El Cinco de Mayo

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  As most of you know, yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, a day celebrated more in the United States than in Mexico.

In honor of the holiday, I made this layout in the morning ...

... and then invited my "crew" to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant here in Gainesville.

Andrew likes this restaurant because they have two fountains that he can toss coins into and also these beautiful hand-carved and painted chairs.  Here he is holding some pennies while he stands next to his favorite chair in the entire restaurant, the one covered with ocean animals.  (He seems a bit sad here because this chair was occupied when we arrived, but we convinced him that sitting in the booth next to this chair was even better because he could look at it while we ate.)

Here are the grandkids enjoying some helado (ice cream) after lunch.

And here is Carolina taking a siesta mere minutes after the ice cream. (No more guacamole for her!!!)

We had a nice time and have the photos to prove it.  And this is why I want to encourage all of you to make prints of the photos you take with your smart phones and get them into scrapbooks.  I know a person who lost her iPhone and with it all of the irreplaceable photos she had taken.  Very sad.

Thanks very much for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
