Altered Book

I have been invited to be the guest teacher at the Treasured Memories Weekend Crop in October! I truly feel honored...Treasured Memories is well known for their amazing teachers and their talent. Here are some pictures of the first book I sent them as a sample. I am planning to make two or three more so everybody gets a chance to see what an altered book is all about and also how important it is to make it "your own". I look forward to see so many friends in Lafayette!

Prima Fabric Album Class

Last Saturday I taught the Prima Fabric Album @ Paper Niche. It was so much fun! They got to play with Gesso, acrylic paints, watercolors, modeling paste, flowers, eyelets, buttons, felt, and so much more!

Random pages

I had fun making one-pages! I also taught a cricut class last night and show them how to make a cute Candy Store using My Community cartridge. They loved it! I love Mondays.... a day of new beginnings.

Moroccan Night at Paper Niche

Tonight we had a Moroccan Feast at Paper Niche. The food was fabulous! From Greek salad to Baklava for dessert. I made this layout filled with Middle Eastern colors. Everyone loved it! I also made "Penelope" out of a new paper pad I bought at Jo Ann fabrics last night. The colors are bright and "happy". I made her flowers out of chipboard, modeling paste and water colors. Her necklace is made out of leather and metal findings. Gine made a very pretty page with a new line of Christmas papers. Mariangella wore bead necklaces made by her kids. She looked gorgeous! Imagine the love she carried around her neck... and I could see her kid's smiling faces when they see the picture of their mommy wearing what they made just for her. This was probably my last crop for now because I am planning to leave South Florida sometime around August 24. I hope I can come back often! I have met so many wonderful people lately. The Lord has really blessed me with each one of them. My heart's desire and prayer lately has been for Him to teach me to love others just as He has loved me. I will treasure our crop weekends at Paper Niche forever!!!

More "old paper"

More old paper out of the box! I do not even know what line of paper this is but who cares! the colors are beautiful. Tammy is selling them for only $10 at Paper Niche!
Did I tell you I love my job? Even if it's only for just a little while....

"Fall for You" class

"Fall for You" class was a huge success! I had a full class and has been asked to teach it again next week before I leave! The layout has acrylic flowers stamped with black staz-on and then painted with alcohol inks, transparencies, glitter mists, chalks, resist embossing over glitter paper, and so many other cool techniques. I'm so glad they enjoyed it and as a teacher, that is the very best accomplishment.

My birthday at the Niche

I spent my birthday with my sister in the morning and then at Paper Niche...what a wonderful day I had! I worked in the morning helping out with the Girl's Summer Camp and then I croppped until midnight. Tammy had a delicious cake for me (no calories because they are waived on your birthday) and so many people gave me cards, presents, lots of hugs and so much love! It truly was a fabulous and blessed day.
Can you believe there is a tape gun BIGGER than the ATG 714?????? Tanya has one to prove it!

Birthdays are awesome!

Today is my 51 birthday! I have always loved birthdays! I remember my parents always making a big deal about them. Today I wake up alone in my house, days before I move to another state but rejoicing in the fact that my Lord & Savior is celebrating with me! This is what He tells me in His precious Word:
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.(Jeremiah 1:5)
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts,God! How vast is the sum of them! (Psalm 139:13-16).
Wow..... He knew me before I was born! All the days of my life are already written in His book! This is just way too wonderful... this is why I love birthdays!

Designing with "old paper"

My job today was to design pages using two-year old paper from the collection called Bohemia. I had so much fun! I made two of them and the idea is to show the beauty of the papers and the matching embellishments even though they are "old". I also made an altered Prima can using the same line. Who says old is no good? I am going to be 51 very soon and I feel like that Altered Prima can!!!!!! (make over is great! ha, ha, ha).

Scrapbooking for someone else!

I always get a little nervous when I scrap for someone else. Do they like the colors? Do they like my style? Do they even know the work, time and effort that goes into designing one page? wow..... every page I scrap I get a little nervous....what can I say? I should be use to it by now, you would say... specially after working for the Vangeloff project! Over 1,200 albums, yes, you read well, more than two years into that project! I still get a little nervous...
