Sports Scrapbooking Pages

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

Scrapbooking sports is extremely popular, especially if young family members are involved in thar sport.  Fortunately there are many different sport papers available these days, from the more common sports like football, basketball and baseball to the less common ones such as rock climbing, lacrosse and tiddly winks.  (Just kidding on the tiddly winks.)

Here are three two-page layouts that I made during my last visit to Treasured Memories.

Faith Based Papers

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope that all of you had a wonderful Easter celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I am so happy that many companies have started offering faith based papers.  Here are a couple of layouts made with BoBunny's Believe line of papers.

I will be designing some kits in the very near future using these and other faith based papers.  Be sure to look for them.

Here are my grandchildren on Easter.  This is Landon and Madison Rose in Port Charlotte.

And here are Andrew and Carolina in Gainesville.

And here I am with my DH at my daughter's house.  My sister, cousin and niece are in the mirror behind us.

Love to Explore

Good morning and happy Good Friday!  Hope that you'vehad a great week and have some special plans for Easter Sunday.

Here is a recent layout and kit titled "Love to Explore".

We got a call yesterday from our son who was in Cuba ealier this week with the Tampa Bay Rays.  The flight from Havana to Tampa is normally less than an hour, but they had a mechanical issue with the plane and had a 6 hour delay in Havana until another plane could be sent to get them.  And since it was such a short flight, the only thing on board to eat was chips and pretzels!  The fellows did get a bit nervous when they saw that all of the other charter flights had taken off and that they were the only plane left.

Nonetheless, Danny says that he still loves to travel and explore.  Good for you, Danny!

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cuban National Team

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  I hope that you are having a great week, so far.  Here is a baseball layout that I recently made for Treasured Memories.  I seem to make a lot of them.  Go figure.

Several months ago our son was traded from the Seattle Mariners to the Tampa Bay Rays.  Not only does this bring him and his family closer to home for nine months out of the year, but he's also experiencing a once in a lifetime opportunity to play against the Cuban National Team today in Havana, Cuba.

Here are his luggage tags.  Boy would I like to get my hands of these to scrap!

Here is Danny on Sunday waiting to get on the charter flight in Tampa.

Old car in the streets of Havana on their way to the hotel.  My DH thinks that it's a '51 Chevy.

Here he is at the hotel with former New York Yankee Derek Jeter.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!  I don't really know a lot about St. Patrick except that he got rid of all the snakes in Ireland.  And for that they gave him his own holiday.

Here are three of my St. Patrick's Day layouts.

All Dolled Up

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Well, today I go to see my doctor for a follow-up to last week's surgery.  I pray that all goes well.

Here is a layout that Janet & I made together last time I was at Treasured Memories using some of the latest Julie Nutting dolls.  Janet came up with the perfect title.

And here my two granddaughters all dolled up with fancy sunglasses.

Operation

Good morning and welcome to another week.  One week ago today I had my third (and hopefully last) major back surgery.  According to the surgeon, everything went well and I'm home now recuperating.  I've been told that I will need three months to convalesce.  My husband, the rest of my family and my dear friends have all commited to make certain that I do just that.

Before going into the hospital I spent some time packing my bags with pretty things, some of which I made on the Silhouette and Cricut.  The hospital can be a very dreary place.  It's no place for a happy person like me!  Here I am the day after the surgery.  I absolutely do NOT remember this photo being taken.  This is because they have the BEST painkillers in the hospital!

About a month ago I blogged about Dora the giraffe and Anibal the tiger visiting me after my last surgery.  Although neither of them came by this time, I did get regular visits from Julio the rooster.  He would fly across the room from one side to the other.  He's a beautiful jet black rooster with a bright red comb.  And only when he flew could you see the bright red feathers on the undersides of his wings.  As I said, the meds in the hospital are the very best.

Well, I'm home now with specific instructions to not BEND, TWIST or LIFT and to spend more time in bed and less time sitting in my studio.  While in bed, I have spent hours with my new coloring books and all of my pencils, pens and markers within arms reach.  No BENDING, no TWISTING and no LIFTING!  I get it, husband, OK?  I get it!

It is with great sadness that I mention the passing of a wonderful and special young lady, Juliana Gerami, from Lafayette, Louisiana.  A valued employee of Treasured Memories, this beautiful young woman loved the Lord and always had positive words and a prayer for those troubled persons around her.  My heart is so sad to know that I will not see her again until my Father calls me home.  We love you and will miss you, Juliana.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  And a very special thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers during this rough time.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Happy Birthday to You!

Good morning and happy Friday.  I hope that you've had a great week and are ready for the weekend.  I'm actually planning to go to Port Charlotte with my daughter and her family to visit my son and his family.

Here are a couple of colorful birthday layout kits that I designed for Treasured Memories this past weekend.

And here is of our son-in-law George participating in a longstanding (about a year now)  family tradition by wearing this very special birthday hat on his birthday this past Sunday.  The tradition is that whoever is having their birthday must wear the hat during the entire birthday celebration.  Guess what ... I'm next!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Adora-Bubble

Good morning and happy Thursday!

Here is a layout that I collaborated on with Janet of Treasured Memories.  She picked out the papers and came up with the title and I laid them out.  I agree with her that this is absolutley adora-bubble!

And here is a recent photo of my adora-bubble-liscious grandson, Landon!  What I smile he's giving us!

Simple Shadow Box

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope that your week is going well so far.

Here is a simple shadow box that I recently made.  What I did was to take a small canvas frame and turn it around.  Using Julie Nutting dolls, different papers, paper flowers and pop dots, I built this wall hanging of my four grandchildren, who I'm going to have all together this weekend.  I can hardly wait!

Snow-Tex

Good morning and happy Tuesday.

Today I want to show you a new use for a product called Snow-Tex made by DecoArt.  Snow-Tex is a texturing medium that is used to to make dimensional effects on most surfaces.  Generally, you would apply it with a stiff brush or a palette knife.  It's very popular at Christmastime for making snow or beards, but it can be tinted as well.

The technique I'm using here is to apply a very thin coating to your work to give it a worn or weathered look.   The best tool that I found for spreading it around thinly was actually my hands.  As you can see here, I actually became part of the work.  Not to worry, it washes off easily with soap and water.

And here is the finished product.  It's great for vintage or shabby chic layouts.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I look forward to your next visit.  Untila then have a wonderful and blessed day.
