Like a Bee Loves Honey

Happy Friday and welcome to my blog.  I hope you had a great week and are ready for the weekend.  I heard that they are having some kind of a football game on Sunday. Like the bumper sticker says. "I'd rather be scrap booking".

Here is another non-traditional Valentine's Day layout and kit that I designed.  It combines yellows, blues and black.  I really like how it turned out.  I hope you do, too.

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a wonderful safe and blessed weekend and we'll see you on Monday!

You're a Hoot!

Good morning and welcome to my blog!  Here is a layout and kit that I designed thinking about silly photographs that just might not fit anywhere else.

And here are some examples of photos that would work just right.  This is my daughter Valerie making a double-decker sandwich with my three grandchildren; Carolina, Madison & Andrew (top to bottom).

And here is Valerie with my daughter-in-law Lexie and Carolina in front of a store named after my youngest grandchild (or not).

And here are Andrew and Carolina trying out their cousin Madison's new ball crawl with Mommy supervising.

I hope that you enjoyed my blog today and got some good inspiration.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and we'll see you again tomorrow!

A Trip Down "Memory Lane"

Happy Wednesday and welcome to my blog!  Here is a layout and kit that I designed titled simply "Memory Lane".  After all, isn't that what scrap booking is all about?  Preserving memories?

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you got some inspiration.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Your Day

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Welcome to my blog.

Here is a birthday layout that I made and turned into a kit.  It's titled "Your Day - B-Day".  The stems of the flowers are paper soda straws slightly flattened.  Who doesn't love a birthday celebration.
Here is the cake that my daughter made for my granddaughter, Carolina Bea, making a word play on her middle name.

And here is the "drum" cake she made for Andrew.  Do you notice the tension adjusters around the outside? They sure look like flower stems to me!

And here is the photo of me with my husband and grandkids at the party.  They say that it's always hard to get two or more kids to face the camera at the same time.  Why is it then that I'm the only one smiling at the camera?

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day

Bee Mine

Good morning and welcome to another week.  I hope that you all had a great weekend.

Here is a new Valentine's Day layout that I designed.  As promised, I'm not going to use only pinks and reds this year.  Actually, this layout is available as a kit!  Be sure to check out the "KITS" tab on this blog.

Happy Friday!

Good morning friends! Hope you've had a wonderful week.  I have to share something with you today. We have been studying the book of James lately. It's a book that is filled with wisdom and direction for our lives. I was sharing with young ladies last night the importance of obedience to what the Lord says to do in His word. One of them asked me: Have you read James 1:2-3?  It says:
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance". Wow..... did you just read that? Did you get it? Trials can be a real test of trust in God. But when we meet them with the right attitude, they serve to prove the quality of that faith.

I designed these layouts for Treasured Memories.  I absolutely love this paper line!

This one has a especial place in my heart because I have a sign above my bed that reads Always Kiss me Goodnight. (and my husband does!!!!!!)

Have a wonderful, beautiful, fun and blessed weekend! And remember what to do if you face any type of trials: Rejoice!

Happy Thursday & Happy Birthday Carolina!

Happy Thursday!  Well, here are two more layouts from last weekend with The Hive.  I'm planning on making many Valentines Day layouts and kits, and many of them will not in the traditional colors of red and pink like this example.  I can't wait to see how they turn out!

But more importantly, today is my youngest grandchild's first birthday.  Happy birthday, Carolina!  Here's a picture of Ki (as her brother Andrew calls her) enjoying the frosting from Andrew's cake a couple of weeks ago.  Today she gets her own!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!  Have a wonderful and blessed day and we'll see you tomorrow!

New Papers

Good morning and happy "hump" day!   Here are a couple of layouts that I made this past weekend using some new papers.  I absolutely love the colors and patterns.  Enjoy!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Back Home

Although I had a great weekend with scrapping friends, it's always great to be home!

Here are a couple of layouts that I made over the weekend.  This first one is titled "A Bunch of Happy Friends".  That's exactly what we were these past four days!

And this one is titled "Strength, Love, Tradition".  It just kind of came together with a little bit of everything.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

With the Hive

Good morning from Dothan, Alabama.  I am here today finishing off a long weekend crop with "The Hive".  Here are some of the Bees trying to keep warm outside of our hotel!

Here's a soccer layout that Cathy and I made.  She did a terrific job cutting out and assembling all of the pieces.

Here's proud Cathy with the finished product!

And here's Melanie with a shadow box to preserve the card and gift her dear aunt sent her last year.  This card is most special to Melanie since her aunt passed away the very day she received the card!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll have more layouts from the crop all this week.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Love is in the Air!

Good morning and happy Friday.  With less than a month before Valentine's Day, here is my first layout for that very special day.  This one will probably end up being offered as a kit!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful, safe and blessed weekend!  I'm off to Dothan, Alabama today to scrap with The Hive.

Happy Thursday!

Good morning! Hope your week is going great so far.  Is this weather crazy or what? It has been insane here in Gainesville!!!

This has to be one of my favorite layouts I've ever done! I actually designed it for Treasured Memories during their event last Summer. The large View-Master reel is from Kaisercraft and it is perfect for small pictures. The boys are stamps from C Thru the Woods.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Scrapbook Room Inspiration

Good morning! My BFF Peggy has redone her scrapbook room.

She's done some amazing things to have a place for everything and everything in its place while keeping the room colorful and stylish.  Take a look at the chandelier in the center of the room!

Her work table has built-in shelves for keeping things close at hand.

I really like that she was able to organize her sticker letters into the magazine rack and lots of goody baskets under that!

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a wonderful and blessed Wednesday!

A New Year, A New You

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Here is a layout that I designed for A Scrap in Time. As you know by now, I love working with the Julie Nutting dolls.  And I am so looking forward to being at A Scrap in Time in February!

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

January is our Birthday Month

Good morning! There are plenty of birthdays for us around this time of the year, with January being the month with the most.  So I decided to make a couple of birthday layouts for the photos!

Andrew was the first his month with his 3rd birthday last Wednesday.  He is crazy about the solar system so that's the cake that his mother made for him.  You might notice some "frosting modification" in the foreground.  Andrew was none to happy to discover that his mother had put Saturn and Jupiter out of order.  He is smiling here because all of the planets are now back in perfect alignment.

So where did the old Saturn end up, you ask?  Carolina, who is having her first birthday in 10 days was happy to take care of it.

The next day we celebrated Steve's 60th birthday.  Here he is with the silly birthday hat that we bought last month for my daughter's birthday.  It has become our newest family tradition.  Carolina will wear it on her birthday next week and then in February my son-in-law will have to put it on!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Happy Day!

Good morning! Hope your week is going great so far. Well, today is my husband's 60th birthday and we are celebrating it all over again! I can't believe I met him when he was only 22 years old. Nearly forty years later he is more handsome than ever! (Shhhhh.... don't tell him I said that). It is also his mom's birthday. She is turning 89 years old. (And Elvis would have been 80 today!)

Here's a layout with a great title for almost any picture.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Two Final Christmas Layouts

Happy Wednesday! Here are two more Christmas layouts that I made this season. I hope that you enjoy them because I probably won't be posting any more until Christmas 2015!

Thanks for visiting my blog. Today is baby Andrew's 3rd birthday. I wonder when I'll stop calling him "baby" Andrew. (Maybe when he gets to high school!)

I'll have some pictures later in the week. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

All Ducks Beware!

One day last week in Louisiana me son lent some spare hunting equipment to my husband and son-in-law and took them out before sunrise to hunt ducks. Here's my hubby with his very first duck ever!

He was so proud until Mike, an avid hunter and the husband of Janet, the owner of Treasured Memories, showed us pictures of himself with all of the animals he had hunted on a recent safari to Africa. "My goodness!" says Steve.  "He shot animals with names I can't even pronounce!"

And here's Andrew checking out the spoils of the hunt when the boys arrived home.

Well, after the picture of Steve and his duck hit Facebook, I was challenged to scrap it. Here's what I came up with.

And can you guess why Andrew's picture didn't make it to this page?  That's right, there's no camo in those jammies!

Thanks for visiting the blog today! Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Treasured Memories - January 2nd

Last week my daughter's family, my husband and I travelled to Lafayette, Louisiana to visit our son & his family. Last Friday I "escaped" from the reunion and spent the day cropping at Treasured Memories.  Here I am with Janet, the owner of the store.

Here we are with three of the scrappers, celebrating the New Year a day and a half late!

Here's the entire group!

My dear friend Raven gave me a beautiful monogrammed apron.  Here is our "photographer", Mr. Bea, trying it out!

Janet gave me some of her family vacation photos and "free rein" of the store to make these layouts for her.  I had so much fun making them with the actual pictures in-hand!

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
