Two More Layouts from Crop Around the Clock

Good morning and happy Friday.  Today I am on my way to Dothan, Alabama to meet with the Hive for a weekend of cropping.  I can hardly wait.

Here are a couple of layouts that I made last weekend at the Crop Around the Clock event in Deerfield Beach, Florida.  This first one is titled Scrapbook Diva.

And this one is titled Crop Around the Clock, in honor of this great event.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Sisters

Good morning and happy Thursday.  Here is a kit that I made at the Crop Around the Clock event this past weekend.  It was quite a popular item.

When I made this kit I was thinking of my own wonderful sister, who took 10 days of her vacation to stay with me after my most recent back surgery.  I just don't have the words to thank her for making that sacrifice.  Here we are at Cracker Barrel the day before I went under the knife.

Beach Wedding

Good morning & happy Wednesday!  As we move into the wedding season, it seems like unconventional weddings such as Destination or Beach Weddings are becoming more popular.

Here is a layout that I made this past weekend at Crop Around the Clock for a beach wedding.  It's a combination of white wedding flowers with a nautical flair.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Poppy the Scrapbooker

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  I have wonderful news; Poppy from the movie Trolls is a scrapbooker!  Click on this link to see:

These ladies just found out and they are ecstatic!  They are planning on duplicating Poppy's layout, including where it pops up and blows glitter!

In the meantime, here is my Trolls layout, albeit without the popping or the glitter.

Crop Around the Clock

Good morning and happy Monday.  I hope that everyone is looking forward to a great week.  I spent the weekend at a crop in Deerfield Beach, Florida.  It was called Crop Around the Clock and was sponsored by Rachel Sherman.

We had a fantastic time.  Here are some photos of the group.  It was nice to see so many old friends that I had not cropped with in a while.

Here are a couple of the layouts I designed.  I'll have more for you during the week.

At the Playground

Good morning and happy Friday!  I made it to South Florida and the crop will start later this morning.  Anytime that there are ladies gathered to scrap all day, that I'm in my element.  I guess you could say that I'm at MY playground.  Who needs swings and slides when there are paper cutters and tape guns to play with?

Thanks for coming to my blog today.  Have a terrific and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Scrap Your Heart Out!

Happy Thursday! Hope your week is going amazing so far. I am off to Deerfield Beach, Florida later on today to the "Crop Around the Clock" event sponsored by my dear friend Rachelle Sherman. I can't wait to see all my South Florida friends! Its been way too long since I have been south of Orlando.

As you can see, I am feeling much better! I have lots of limitations such as BLT (No bending, no lifting no twisting), have to wear a big belt but that doesn't keep me from going! I promised my surgeon and family that "I will behave". I will ONLY be designing awesome kits for the event with the help of by niece Gaby.

This is one of my new kits for April, perfect for this event, right?

I will be posting whatever I make on FB all weekend so stop by and visit! Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Little Hands

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Yesterday, my grand-daughter Carolina wanted to go into my studio and paint.  Who am I to say "No" to a request like that?  We put on her little apron, put some water colors into her paint tray and gave her a big piece of paper and some brushes.

In no time she had completed her "masterpiece"!

Here is a new kit titled Little hands that will be published along with around 20 new kits later this week.  Keep checking the details.

Wedding Layouts

Good morning! Hope you had a lovely weekend and got a chance to worship our Lord and Savior. I was able to go to church and it felt soooo good to get out of the house and to see the sunshine! Yes, thank God I finally feel better and stronger.
I have been making  a few  wedding related layouts lately. Love is in the air..... It seems like Spring and Summer and the most popular seasons for weddings, right?
Say YES to the dress is one of my favorite programs to watch. I found this chipboard title, painted it, embossed it and voila! Perfect as my title.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed Monday!

Good Friday

Good morning and happy Good Friday!

As a little girl, I questioned why we called the day of our savior's death "Good Friday" rather than something like "Sorrowful Friday" or "Mournful Friday".  Recently, someone told me that it started out as "God's Friday", but then morphed into "Good Friday" over the centuries.  I'm not sure about that because in Spanish, my mother tongue , it is "Buen Viernes" which is a direct translation of "Good Friday".

I'm going to stick with the theory that it's always been Good Friday, because it is good.  Without His suffering and death, there would never have been a Resurrection, which is the cornerstone of all Christianity.

Here are a couple of recent layouts of mine.  This first one is titled "Child of God".

I titled this one "Jesus Loves You".

Thanks for visiting my blog on this very special day.  Have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Easter Eggs

Good morning and happy Thursday!  This week is coming to an end.  It's been 10 days since my surgery and I thought I'd be further along in my recovery, but, it's not so bad being pampered by my family & friends.

Here is another Easter layout and kit I called Easter Eggs.  Don't get me wrong, but I've never fully understood the bunny and the eggs thing.  Rabbits don't lay eggs, but the Easter bunny brings them to you all decorated up.  Where does he get them?  It's all too confusing.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a terrific and blessed day!

Easter Egg Hunt

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Easter is one day closer.  I have an amusing Easter story that happened to me as a newlywed nearly 40 years ago.  Realize that I'd been in the U.S. less than a year.

I told my husband one evening that I had been to every supermarket in town and could not find rabbit anywhere.  He asked me why I was looking for it.  "For Easter dinner.", I replied.  "At Thanksgiving there are turkey decorations all over and people eat turkey.  Don't you eat rabbit at Easter?"

He had a pained look on his face when he asked me, "Are you planning on cooking the Easter bunny?"  Needless to say, we ate something else.

Here is a recent layout and kit of mine titled Easter Egg Hunt. something our 30-year-old son still enjoys participating in.

Amazing Easter Memories

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  This weekend is the most important weekend of the year in our Christian faith, more important than Christmas, birthdays or even Groundhog Day.  Of course I'm talking about Good Friday and Easter, when we celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.

Of course, it's always fun for the kids to have Easter baskets and candy, but the gift He gave to us is much more valuable.  This week I will be showcasing some Easter layouts and kits that I have recently made.  Here is one titled Amazing Easter Memories.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog regularly.  It is truly appreciated.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Aren't Grandkids Great?

Good morning and happy Monday!  It's been one week since my surgery.  They always say that while recovering you have your good days and your bad days.  Mine seem to be split up into moments.  Every day I have my good moments and my bad moments.  A good day is when there are more good moments than bad.  Laughter helps me through the bad moments.

One of the things that we laugh about is a wound drainage pump that they sent home with me.  I have to keep it on for a full week.  It's egg-shaped  and plugs into the wall but has a battery back-up.  When operating correctly, it clicks like a geiger counter.  We call it the "radioactive potato".  If the tube becomes disconnected or pinched, it makes beeping noises until we get it fixed.  Now that we're just starting to get the hang of it, it's coming off.  My DH says that he's going to paint it and put it in an Easter basket for me!

On Sundays my grand kids usually spend the night.  They were not going to let something like a little surgery stand in the way of their weekly sleepover and they both wanted to stay in my bed.  We had a bit of trouble getting them situated so that they were not interfering with the radioactive potato's wires and tubes while leaving me access to get up for potty breaks.

Here are a couple of layouts that I made which show just how special grandchildren are to us.  They're titled Grandma's Boy and Grandma's Girl.

Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for all of your kind words and prayers.  Hopefully I'll be able to post blogs everyday this week.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Surgery day again....

Happy Friday dear friends! Well, Monday morning I had "another" back surgery and thank God, all went well. I have an amazing surgeon who specializes in what I have and I am so thankful for that. Thank you Dr. MacMillan, we love you! One of the things that never ever cease to amaze me is God's ordained and gift of "FAMILY". I couldn't go thru one more surgery without my family's love, encouragement and support. My sister Andi is here with us for almost 2 weeks, my daughter and son in law have taken days off work and daily schedules to be with me, and of course, my precious husband is always cheering me on rain or shine, in sickness and in health. As I reflect on all these blessings, I thank the Lord for His goodness and His love for us!

It wouldn't be me if I wasn't taking pictures and goofing off even when I am in pain! And of course, I already made two layouts for  this "special occasion". I am a scrapbooking addict at heart after all!!!!

Make sure to document life even in the simplest and/or hardest moments of life. Remember it's a wonderful journey! Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Taking a Turn for the Nurse

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  As most of you know, I've had my share of back problems over the years.  Yesterday I went under the knife one more (I wish I could say one last) time to remove the metal rods that had held my spine in place while it fused.  They are no longer needed and one of them had come loose (my DH says that it's not the only loose screw that I have) causing me pain.  Here I am ready to go in for surgery.

One of the reasons that I like this hospital so much is that they have the BEST anesthetics!  When I'm coming around I always have animals visit in the room.  After past surgeries there have been Anibal the tiger, Dora the giraffe and Julio the rooster, just to name a few.

This time was no exception.  I was visited by Mandy and 23 of her friends for a flamingo parade.  Once they all got into the room, they put on a show with dancing and twirling.  They even did a Russian Cossack dance.  It was amazing!  After the show, Mandy stuck around and spent most of the afternoon with me.

Well, when my DH spilled the beans about Mandy's visit, the flamingo wishes flowed in.  Here are Madison and Landon posing with a couple of flamingos somewhere in St. Pete.

Carolina and Andrew brought me some inflatable flamingos to the hospital.

Here are my daughter and my sister & me posing with "Mandy".

And here are a couple of hospital layouts that I made.  I think that I'm going to have to re-do them to include some pink flamingos in honor of Mandy and her friends' visit.

Opening Day

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope that you had a wonderful and fun-filled weekend. Mine was amazing! Yesterday was opening day for the Tampa Bay Rays.  Of course, we were not going to miss it for anything.  Danny, our son,  had the opportunity of pitching the 8th inning in this 7-3 win over the New York Yankees, and we were all there to cheer for him! What an exciting moment. You can imagine how nervous I was watching my baby on that mound!!!!!

Here's me with Danny before the game.

Here's all of us after the game celebrating "being together" as well as  a great victory on Opening Day.

And last, but not least, here are a couple of baseball layouts I made on Saturday.  Unfortunately, they don't have room for the 84,697 pictures I took yesterday, so I'm going to have to pick the best of the bunch.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful and blessed day.
