Flock, liquid applique, glitter & glossy accents!

Seven beautiful ladies learned to use flock, liquid applique, glitter and glossy accents in the Mother's Day Card Class at Paper Niche. We all had so much fun and were able to finish 7 cards in about 2 hours. One of the best things of the class was to see the creative side of each one. I reminded them to make their work their own and not to be afraid of using different techniques and materials to personalize their cards. They laughed when I told them to use their God-given tool to flock..."their index finger"! I am so thankful to my Lord & Saviour for his gift of creativity and for making colors...they are ALL so beautiful!

CKC Houston April 2009

I just got back from a wonderful weekend in Houston, Texas. My dear friend Abby moved there from South Florida about 3 years ago. She invited me to go to this convention a while back and I couldn't say no! We took a bunch of classes, shopped till we dropped (literally!) and since over 30 vendors were not "enough" we went to Hobby Lobby and Archiver's afterwards. We also got to scrap in her wonderful studio at her house and used her awesome tools and die-cut machines! At the show we saw Tasca, Fay and Janice from Lafayette, La. God is so good... all the time! I thank Him so much for the gift of friendship and relationships. I pray that I never, ever take for granted those whom He has given me as friends.

Friday night crop

Last night I went to Paper Niche for the Friday night crop. I challenged myself to take paper that required to think "outside the box". I managed to make a layout and two wall plaques. I did not have any pictures to put in the layout but hopefully I will take some good ones this weekend as we plan to spend it with the kids in Tampa.
How many times are we afraid to step into the unkown just because it is an unfamiliar territory? "Do not fear for I am always with you" are the words of my Saviour for us today.

Divine colors!

Oh... those soft greens, pinks and blues...I love them all!
Someone at work told me that I was "autumn". She is an avid fan of a book called "color me beautiful" where the author teaches you what colors are best for you. She said that I look best in colors someone would see in a desert: greens, beiges, browns, blues like the sky. I was fascinated by this and started following her advice. Sure enough, people started complementing me about my colors! Thank you Claudia! Thank you Lord for creating colors and for giving us eyes to see them! May I always delight in your creation and never, ever take it for granted!

The meaning of Easter

The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all.

Today, the meaning of Easter, for million of Christians, is that of honoring and recognizing Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead, and His glorious promises of eternal life for all who believe in Him.

Thank you my dear Lord for dying for me and for giving me eternal life.

Seasons with the cricut

I love my cricut! Specially when I want to make a page about the season or holiday we are celebrating. I made lots and lots of the nativity scene ones over Christmas and I had many people buying them to give away as a present. Each layout has over 60 pieces. It was fun! I will post some other ones later on. Today is a great day, let us rejoice and be glad, for the Lord is good!
