Southern hospitality to the max!

I couldn't believe my eyes.... talk about people being friendly in the South! This morning I drove to a town called Albany in Georgia, about 1 1/2 hours  from Dothan (yes, they have a Hobby Lobby in Albany and everything was 50% off!) and I stopped at a local gas station to fill up my tank.  A man came over  to pour my gas, cleaned my windows (front and back!), checked my tires and pour water in my engine!!! I kept asking him if he does that to everyone and he said YES! I wanted to tip him ten bucks and he said "no way", this was part of his job! I wanted to hug him, I thanked him soooo many times and I  told him I haven't seen this type of service in sooo many years! he was so happy to see me so excited he allowed me to take a picture of him! His name is Carl.... I told him I was going to post him on my blog. Isn't it wonderful to find someone like that once in a while? He sure made my day and I made his with my excitement. Oh by the way... he had a stronger accent than mine...

Five weeks and counting...

My son Danny is getting married in about 5 weeks! (December 5). Lexie, his fiance, asked me to make 8x8 albums for each one of her bridesmaids and her maid of honor, her sister.  I finished that one already and it turned out so cute! Lexie chose bright colors (pinks, greens and yellows). She collected  pictures of their lives together and  will write a letter to each one of them for the last page of the album. She is planning to give it to them on the night of the rehersal dinner. Wow... my baby is getting married!

What happens in Dothan stays in Dothan!

It has been raining almost non-stop here in Dothan, Alabama this week. My husband is in Virginia working until Sunday and I am all alone in this new town!!!!! I have been scrapbooking non-stop! I am not even close to being-up-to-date with my pictures but it pays to be "alone-on-a-raining-day-in-a-new-town-with-hubby-out-of-town!".

Die-cuts and flowers and swirls!

I made this $1 pocket-calendar from Michael's with leftover papers. It turned out so cute! They make adorable Christmas presents.

On Saturday night I went to the weekend crop at Paper Niche here in South Florida. It was so much fun, as always. Since I did not bring any of my scrapbooking stuff  I had to shop for a "few things" in order to keep myself entertained.....  I cut out some flowers out of cardboard in the accu-cut machine and then painted them. That was an inexpensive way to embellish my page! I also bought a package of fall die-cuts at Michael's and made a "happy autumm" layout. I also played with Prima flowers and  fancy swirls.. I love their new colors! It was great to see everybody.... I miss them all so much!

Oh... those Gators are amazing, arent' they? Even Moses had a fit those last seconds of the game and after another victory...... he passed out!

Mini Album Swap

My friends Abby from Houston and Tanya from Ft. Lauderdale suggested a monthly swap between the three of us now that we live so far away from each other. The idea is to use everything we already have and use our machines such as cricut, sizzix, quickutz, cuttlebug, wishblade, etc, etc, etc, to cut tittles, letters and embellishments. Abby sent me this cute one and today I put it together. I used pictures from my birthday back in August and I used almost everything she sent me in the kit. Our swap next month will be a two-page layout and I get to choose the theme. Can't wait!

Weekend at Treasured Memories

What a wonderful weekend we had at Treasured Memories this past weekend! I taught two classes: Altered Book and a Cricut class using the  Zooballoo cartridge. We started on Friday morning and finished about 4 pm on Sunday. Janet (owner of Treasured Memories) and her entire staff were amazing... helpful, fun, and so much more! Every book was a work of art. I love to teach there because there is SOOOOOO much talent going around! I can't wait to go back next month! Check out this amazing store and their blog at:
