Autumn/Fall Layouts

Good morning and happy Friday!  I hope that you've had a great week and are ready for the weekend.  We will be driving over to the coast to meet up with my DH's sister & brother-in-law who are on vacation.

I love making Fall layouts because of the vibrant colors.  We used to live in the Midwest and I truly mis the colors of the Fall leaves,

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Zoo Crew

Good morning and happy Thursday!

Regular followers of this blog will know that my grandson Andrew is crazy about animals, especially ocean animals.  And of all ocean animals, the octopus is his absolute favorite.  So you can imagine his excitement when his cousin Madison Rose sent him this picture from the giftshop at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

I don't imagine that this one is for sale, but I know that he would like to have it!

Here is a zoo layout that I made recently.  I never really thought of an octopus as a zoo animal, but it's Andrew's favorite exhibit at Sea World in Orlando!

Playing Doctor

Good morning & happy Wednesday.  This past weekend we went with our four grandchilden to Great Explorations Children's Museum in St. Petersburg.  One of the activities there was to dress up as doctors and perform physicals on toy dolls.  They were so cute in their lab coats.

Here are a couple of recent layouts that are perfect for these photos.

Cherish Today!

Good morning! I am back from spending a few days with our son and his family in Tampa. We got to see the last home games of the season and also got to meet some amazing players from the Red Sox such as Big Papi (David Ortiz) and Kung Fu Panda (Pablo Sandoval). It was a very emotional weekend as well because we lost an amazing baseball talent and terrific young man in a terrible boat accident, Jose Fernandez. My heart aches for his mother, grandmother and family.

Life is so fragile and, unfortunately we sometimes live it as if we will live forever. No wonder why the Lord tells us in Proverbs 27:1:  Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

I love to make layouts with titles such as this one "Happy Day, Cherish Today".

I still have some of this month's kits left for sale.  They are posted on the KITS page of this blog. Click on the girl with a shopping cart in the upper left and she will take you to that page. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Book Club

Good morning and happy end of the week!

On Wednesday I posted a new batch of scrapbooking kits.  Book Club is just one of them.  The dolls in this kit are digital stamps from Saturated Canary which I've colored with copic markers.  I'm having so much fun with my markers these days.

If you've not done so by now, click on the happy scrappy shopper to see all of my new kits.

To the Moon and Back

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope that your week is going well so far.

Here is a layout that I made with one of my favorite expressions, "to the Moon and back".  To me it signifies a huge quantity; it's not just all the way to the moon, but back which makes it double!

Best Way to Take a Selfie

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

This past weekend in Alabama with The Hive, we came to agreement on the best way to take a "selfie".  It is with your arm completely stretched out (or even using a "selfie stick") with the phone held above the group, pointing downward.  There are two reasons for this.

First, with the phone further away, wrinkles and age spots become less noticeable.

Second, by tilting your head back, double chins completely vanish.

Here is a recent layout featuring our friendly group of ladies.  Notice that they're not using our technique.

One for All & All for One

Good morning and happy new week!  I just spent a wonderful weekend with The Hive, scrapbooking our little fingers to the bone.  Here are a couple of layouts that I made

One of the great things about this group is that nobody is going to let another suffer the anguish of having to going shopping all by theirself.  If one goes, we all go.  And we were especially pleased to be able to take advantage of the 60% off coupon this weekend at Michael's!  Now that's sacrifice!

City or Paradise?

Good morning! I have an anecdote to share.... I was going to take my grandaughter Carolina to music class at 9:30 am yesterday morning when I found myself locked out of the house and of my car! Her diaper bag with her bottle, my purse, keys and cell phone were in there too and all the doors and windows of my house were locked! Carolina and I walked around our block knocking on doors, but NO ONE was home! I have AAA but could not call them because I had no cell phone nor ID Card. Finally after 30 minutes or so of knocking at doors one neighbor came to our rescue and invited us into her house until my hubby came home 1 hour later. (He was at the dentist.)  Carolina and I ended up spending a beautiful time with a lady who has stage 4 breast cancer. We laughed, talked, prayed and laughed some more and what could have been a disaster it turned out into a lovely and blessed morning. Sometimes God has other plans for us that day. If we are willing to follow his direction we will see Him at work and rejoice in His leading and love!
Todays layouts are about the busy city of New York and a peaceful setting in the country side.
Have a wonderful and blessed day and remember that if your plans happen to get changed, open your eyes and enjoy the ride!

The Same, The Same

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  Here is a recent layout that I made.  I enjoy making layouts with little sayings,  This one tells you how to be, but most importantly to "Be You".

These are the kinds of pictures I image for this layout.  Carolina likes to dress the same as her mother, whether it's to tailgate before a Gator football game ...

... or to dress up for work/school with a purse and sunglasses.

Thin Metal Dies

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope that your weekend went well.

Here is a layout that I made over the weekend using thin metal dies from Stampin' Up and from Kaisercraft.  The flowers and the leaves are made using Stampin' Up dies.  I used glitter paper for them and backed them up with printed cardstock.  The clocks are made using Kaisercraft dies and black cardstock.

It's a lot of work knocking out all of the tiny pieces of paper from the die-cuts, but I think that it's well worth the effort.  This photo does not do justice to the outcome.

Disney Shirts on Cricut Air

Good morning and happy end-of-the-week!  Here is a photo of the adorable outifits my lovely and talented DIL made on her Cricut Air.  She and my son took their kids to Disneyworld one day last week for their birthdays.

And here is Landon with his special Disney birthday hat.  How amazing is it that he leaves it on!

And here are the four of them at the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.

Here are a couple of fairly recent Disney layouts that I've made.

Summer is Almost Over!

Good morning!  Even though Labor Day has come and gone, it's still quite warm around here.  This is Florida so we are still able to take the grandchildren to the pool and to the beach for a little while longer.  It won't last forever so we try to enjoy every minute of it while we can.

Here are a couple of layouts I made recently. Perfect for all the fun summer activities, right?

Have a wonderful and blessed day and again, thank you for visiting!

Sparkle

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope your week is going well so far.

Here is another layout using a digital stamp image that I enlarged (the image, not the girl ... she was already a bit on the large side) and then colored with copic markers.

Happy Birthday, Babies!

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  I hope that your weekend was great!  We went to St. Pete to our oldest and youngest grandchildren's birthday party. The theme was Pepa Pig and George   Here are Landon and Madison Rose getting ready to enjoy cupcakes as soon as I put the camera down.  (Actually, Landon did not wait.)

Their mom, my DIL, outdid herself with the decorations.  Here are the chalkboard signs she made for them.  Landon is 1 ...

... and Madison is 5!

Down on the Farm

Good morning!  Are you ready for a long weekend?  I sure am.  We are heading to St. Pete for the weekend to celebrate our grandchildren's birthdays and to enjoy some good baseball too.
I think every kid loves farm animals, especially if they get to pet them and get their little hands dirty. We have a beautiful nature center close to our home which has a working 1870's farm with "heritage" farm animals.  One of them is Penny the cow. Andrew and Carolina have visited her regularly since they were babies. Penny is very sweet and calm and loves carrots.

Here are a couple of recent layouts of mine featuring "the farm".

Thanks for visiting my blog today which is turning out to be a wet, wet Friday as huricane Hermine passes to the north of us.  Have a fabulous, fun and blessed weekend!

Making Memories

Happy September!  Is this year flying by or what?  The good thing is that the weather will start changing soon.
Have you noticed how many new words have been added to our vocabulary thanks to technology? "Selfie" is one of them. I see teenagers posing in the middle of a store, in the bathrooms, on the streets, everywhere they are busy taking selfies and posting them everywhere! Even though I am not very good taking a selfie, I think they are so convenient because you do not have to bother anybody to take your picture or even set up the camera, run and smile.
If you are anywhere in the path of Tropical Storm Hermine, please get prepared and be safe. Never ever underestimate the power of nature.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
