Christmas Traditions

Good morning!  Wow.... today is the last day of 2012.  It seemed that this year went soooo fast!  Days like today make us reflect upon our journey and make plans for what lies ahead.I am looking forward to the new year and to see what God has in store for me.

In the meantime I keep scrapping! Here's another Christmas layout I made recently. I used My Mind's Eye glitter papers and used yellows instead of green and red.

Disney is Awesome!

Good morning!  Today's layouts are about Disney.  Don't you just love everything about their characters?  I just heard that they are expanding the Magic Kingdom in Orlando and that their new site will be about storytelling. Can't wait!

Valerie, Andrew and I spent the day at Animal Kingdom yesterday.  Andrew's favorite time at the park was the dinosaur digging site.

His second favorite one was dancing with his mommy to the African drum beat.

I can't believe that 2012 is almost over!  Again, thank you for your support, kind and loving words you have shared with me throughout the year.  Each post I've made is done with you in mind.  Have a fabulous and blessed "last weekend of 2012"!!!

Bright Colors

Good morning!  I decided to do something that's not a Christmas layout for a change!  Instead, this one's all about beautiful bright and cheery colors from Prima (Zephyr Collection)  and Webster Bloomers  (orange and blue trims at the bottom.

I also used Echo Park chipboard pieces to embellish my layout.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Christmas Village

Good morning! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed every minute of it. We had a great time spending time together, eating, and opening presents.

Here's a cute gingerbread village I made for our Christmas cookies photos.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Merry Christmas!

Photobucket
"But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son,
born of a woman, born under law,
to redeem those under law,
that we might receive the full rights of sons".
 (Galatians 4:4,5).

“Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one.
I died, and behold I am alive forevermore"
(Revelation 1:17,18).

God sent His son, they called him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove
my Savior lives.

Merry Christmas!

Cookies for Santa

Good morning!  Are you ready for Christmas?  One of the very special traditions of Christmas is baking & decorating Christmas cookies.  In this layout I've combined the themes of Christmas & cookies with kitchen & utensils.  I think they go together nicely, don't you?

This will be a great layout for five photographs of your children or grandchildren making a lovely mess in your kitchen as they make cookies in anticipation of Santa's arrival.

Have a very special and blessed Christmas Eve and a most wonderful Merry Christmas!

Family Album

Happy Friday! I would like to share with you a few of my favorite pictures of the season (so far!).

Valerie took Andrew to the park . They went on the swing and on the slide and on everything else around!

They also had a musical jam session. I think I may get Andrew a set of drums (for him to keep at his parents' house, not mine!).

Andrew was in awe of a moving doll while waiting on line to get photographed with Santa.

Grandpa and Andrew had a fabulous time feeding the ducks and the ibises. Andrew ate his share of bread!

It looks like Grandpa and Andrew's hats GREW!  There were lanterns in the background and, lo and behold, they stood right in front of them!

Here is a photo of my nephew home for Christmas from Basic Training in the U.S. Army.  He looks so handsome in his uniform.

Madison and her parents are spending Christmas with the other grandparents in California. Here is Madison with her new Minnie Mouse doll.  It's almost a big as she is!

Here is Madison with her new "ride".  She just loves her new jalopy.  When I scrap this picture, I have the perfect accompaniment in the Tim Holtz Old Jalopy die!

These are some blessed and happy grandparents holding a baby who has filled their lives with much love and happiness.

Yes, I do have many many scrapbook pages to make for these precious photographs. I think I need another lifetime to catch up!!!!! Enjoy the weekend, hug and love those around you and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season. Have a blessed weekend!

I Still Love Cardinals!

Good morning!  I'm sure I said this recently, "I love cardinals!"   So here are two more layouts I made with them.  This first one is for my friend, Linda.  These papers are from a Recollections Paper Pad from Michael's and so are all of the embellishments.

I used My Mind's Eye glitter papers for this one. The bows between the banners are made out of glitter paper as well.

Have fun and enjoy this beautiful season with the love and joy of the Lord.  Have a blessed day!

More Christmas Layouts!

Good morning!  Just like the song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year."  I just love the music and the expectation for Christmas Day.  I got the Fisher-Price nativity set for Andrew and every morning we read the Christmas story aloud and he loves to push baby Jesus in his cradle to light him up and play a song.

When I designed this layout for my friend Linda, "Be Still" were the words that came to mind.  Psalm 46:10 says : "Be still, and know that I am God".  These words go well with the resting reindeer, as well.

I really love this "wood-grain" paper.  It's almost like paper comes from wood!

This next layout is all about Santa.

And this one is for a cold, wintery Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Legacy

Good morning!  I love the word "Legacy" and it is the title of today's layout.  This layout is made with Echo Park papers and embellishments.  I left room for four 4 x 6's and a couple of small portraits.

Thanks for stopping by and looking.  Now head on over to Paper Niche's blog for today's post.  My DH is giving tips on keeping paper punches and Cricut blades sharp when he receives an unusual visitor.  I think that this explains his recent odd behavior.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Scrappin' with the HIVE

Good morning!  Hope that you had a fabulous weekend and are enjoying this beautiful season.  Today's layouts are bright and glittery.  Love these colors for Christmas.  I've seen a lot of ornaments, ribbons and Christmas decorations in this color scheme this year.

You can see my stockings decorated to the max!  Feathers, lace, bling, flowers and skates, all in a 2" x 5" stocking!

Here's another layout using the same stockings and tree but different papers and embellishments.

I have a group of dear friends from "Flor-gia-bama" (Northwest Florida, Southwest Georgia & Southeast Alabama).  We call ourselves "Bea's Hive" (or "the Hive", for short).  We got together last weekend for a two-day Christmas crop in Dothan, Alabama.

We also had a lovely Christmas dinner party in Peggy's beautifully decorated home.

These two precious babies are Mary Kate (red bow) and Anna Beth, grand-daughters of two members of the Hive.

Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Happy Birthday, Valerie!

Good morning!  Today's layout is dedicated to our beautiful daughter, Valerie, who has been our princess since the day she was conceived. She turns 32 years old today.

Happy birthday, Valerie!  We wish you many blessings today, always and forever.
We love you!

Children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Psalm 127:3

Is It Cold Yet?

Good morning!  My layouts today make me want to be where there's snow.  We are taking Andrew to a "winter festival" on Sunday where they will have fake snow and sleigh rides.  My layouts are ready to scrap those pictures!  So I have to plan on three "vertical" pictures and have his parents dress him to match these colors.

I love snowman!  I used papers from a Recollections pad from Michael's.  Maybe Andrew's parents can bring a change of clothes so I can get two "vertical's" and one "horizontal" for this layout.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Good morning and happy 12/12/12!!!  How cool is that?

Here is a series of single-page layouts on the 12 days of Christmas that I designed for Paper Niche.  Now, even though there are 12 separate layouts, I paired them up so that they'll match in your Christmas album.

Here they are in order, all paired up.

It was a fun project to make and I have good news for you!  Paper Niche is selling the entire collection in a form of a kit.  All twelve pages for only $100!  That works out to about $8 a page and it brings everything that you see here already cut out and ready to put together.  Place your order directly with Paper Niche.

Have a wonderful & blessed 12/12/12!!!

Monkeying Around

Good morning!  Here is a layout I designed for Paper Niche.  It was a huge hit.  There were several grandmas like me who have awesome pictures of their little ones "monkeying" around.

The leaves are cut out of a Graphic 45 paper, inked and popped. They look like the real thing!  I have a big box of all different sizes of "goo-goo eyes".  I don't know what I would do without "goo-goo eyes" & pop dots!

Here is a picture of my fearless grandson Andrew on Thanksgiving Day at a 10K run his parents were in.  He did not appreciate the fact that this fence was keeping him out of the street.  When he couldn't figure how to climb over it, he tried crawling under it.  He got as far as his butt, but no further.  After I pulled him back he just kind of leaned over it and then tumbled over!  No points for style, but he was happy to be over.

Here's another picture of fearless Andrew on his swing.  The higher he flies the more fun he has!

Have a wonderful and blessed day!
