Movie Night

Good morning and happy Friday!  Do you have plans for the weekend?  Me, I'm off to Alabama to scrap with The Hive for a couple of days.  I can hardly wait!

Our lives have become so hectic these days that we're having to actually schedule time to be together as a family.  This has brought us things like game night, date night and, of course, movie night.  Back in the day we didn't have much choice as to what we would watch.  The TV networks took care of that!  If you weren't in your chair when the movie started, too bad for you.  And you had to schedule your bathroom breaks around the commercials.

But with the advent of video players, DVD's, Netflix and so on, we can watch whatever and whenever we want.  We can pause and start it back up to our heart's content and re-play certain scenes over and over!  Who doesn't love movie night?

Here's a new layout of mine titled just that; Movie Night.  A very popular kit, indeed.

Mermaid or Shark?

Good morning and happy Thursday!  I hope that you are having a great week so far.

A week ago Saturday my daughter held a joint birthday party for Andrew and Carolina who are now 4 and 2, respectively.  The party was held at the Florida Museum of Natural History on the University of Florida campus here in Gainesville.  The theme was The Ocean.

Here are three layouts that I made especially for this party.  It's rare that I post layouts with pictures in them, but here they are!

Cold as a Fish!

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  This past Saturday I went with my daughter and her kids to Sea World in Orlando.  Although the day was sunny & bright, it was awfully cold!

In spite of the cold, Shamu put on a great show.  I think that the tank is heated.  Even so, we didn't sit in the splash zone.

Here we are, all bundled up against the cold!

Here's an older layout of mine that might be good for these photos.  However, Andrew tells me that the killer whale is not a fish.  Guess I won't be able to use this one after all.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Good morning and happy Friday!  My special princess, Carolina, is two today.  As I've mentioned before, she is all about princesses and likes to dress up like one most days.  I made this layout especially for her.

Here she is in a non-princess moment.

Here she and her borther, Andrew, are helping me out in my studio.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Happy birthday, Carolina!  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Hanging Hearts

Good morning and happy Friday!  Here we are at the end of another week.  Do you have any big plans for the weekend.  We're going to our "in town" grandchildren's birthday party tomorrow to celebrate Andrew's (who turned 4 last Thursday) and Carolina's (who will turn 2 next Friday) birthdays.  They're having it at the Florida Museum of Natural History.

Here's a layout that I just finished.  I'm absolutely loving these hanging chipboard hearts.  I'll be using them in  Valentine's Day layouts as we move closer to that event.

Bluebirds of Happiness

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope that your week is going well so far.

Here is a simple layout that I just finished.  What is unique about this layout for me is that I've included mats for eleven photos!  So often we get so carried away with the layout that we forget to leave room for the photos.

Several years ago I was scrapping at home with two friends and was so happy with my single-page layout until I realized that I had not left room for even one photo!  I had to start removing and re-arranging things until I made room for just one photo.  I put a photo of the three of us and even had it framed.  To this day it hangs in my studio.  What a great memory that is.

New Year, New Toys!

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  This is an new year, so that means that everyone should have some new toys.  Yes, that's correct.

I have been playing with new dies from Stampin' Up, Prima and Cottage Kutz.  You can see some of the results in my latest work.  As you know, I LOVE flowers and now I love them even more since I can make them myself.

Here is a layout that I made where dies from all three companies are used.

The rose at the bottom is made with Stampin' Up dies, the flower on the left and the clock on the right are made with Prima dies and the leaves at the left are made with Cottage Kutz dies.

Here are a couple of layouts that I made.

Just Another Shabby Chic Day

Good morning and happy Friday!  I hope that you had a great week and you have some terrific plans for the weekend.  Me, I'm gathering with a group of friends at The Flying Unicorn in Tallahassee on Saturday to scrap our hearts out.  For sure I'll have an update with photos next week!

I was in a shabby chic mood yesterday.  Here are a couple of layouts that I made.

Yesterday was my four-year-old grandson Andrew's birthday.  I wrote here that he says that he's really eight since his favorite animal is the octopus and that the octopus has eight legs.

Well, today is my husband's birthday.  I'm wondering if his favorite animal is the centipede!  Just kidding, hubby ... happy birthday!

Here we are this past summer at the Florida Aquarium.  See ... he doesn't look one day over 98!

Happy Birthday Andrew (maybe)

Good morning and happy Thursday!  I hope that your week is going well so far.

Today is my grandson Andrew's fourth birthday ... perhaps.  The fact that he was born four years ago today is absolutely true.  However, he recently informed us that his birthday was on the 8th.  My DH was pleased and proud because his is on the 8th (the same as his mother and the same as Elvis).  Had Andrew been able to hold on for another 45 minutes, he would have been born on the 8th, as well.

But his reason for changing it to the 8th was not nearly as sentimental as we thought.  He explains that since his favorite animal is the octopus and that since the octopus has eight tentacles, he would take the 8th.  On top of that, he is not going to be four years old, but rather eight years old for all the same reasons.  How can you argue with logic like that?

Here's a layout that I made for him.  He's stuck with four, because the glue has already dried!

Here are some recent photos of him.  This one is the other day at the museum.

And this one is a week ago on New Years Eve.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  I'm dedicating it to all four-year-olds going on eight and all those whose birthdays are either on the 7th or the 8th.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Monthly Story

Good morning and happy Wednesday.  I hope that your week is going well so far.

Here is a new layout that I designed this week titled January Story.

It features a window in which gives a glimpse of the month.  In this one you see cold, but sunny days with snow on the ground and a tree without leaves.  I'm going to make one of these every month this year with a different window scene for the month and season.  Stay tuned.

Treasured Memories, a marvelous scrapbooking store in Lafayette, Louisiana, has just announced the 2016 Rayne Mega-Crop.  It is being held in Rayne, Louisiana over the last two weekends in July.  This year it will have a western theme.

This event has become so popular in recent years that they've had to offer it two weekends and even then, it fills up quickly.  To find out more about this even, click here (Rayne Round Up).  Yours truly will be at both events.

Crazy for You

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  How often do we look at someone else and think "Wow, I wish that my family was more like theirs and not crazy like mine."?  Truth be known, they're probably thinking the same thing about you and your family!  Sometimes "crazy" is a good thing.

Here's a new layout that I made for pictures of my crazy family.  A two page layout might not be enough.  I may have to make an entire album.

Here are Andrew & Carolina on their way to one of their favorite destinations, the Florida Museum of Natural History.  They go there just about every week.  In fact, they're having their birthday party there in a couple of weeks.  Crazy?  Perhaps.

And here's Carolina in one of her many "princess outfits".  For her, this is daily attire.  Crazy?  Maybe.

And here she is with her princess pajamas and butterfly wings, caught red handed!  Not with her hand in the cookie jar, but with my lipstick!  This is how she likes to take naps.  Crazy?  Very definite possibility/

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a blessed day and remember that crazy can be a good thing.
