Family Legacy

Good morning!  Here are a couple of layouts I made for some old family photos.  I stayed with mild and muted colors because these old photos are black and white and I didn't want them to clash.

I included some things in this layout that you just don't see anymore; like a rotary telephone and a typewriter.  Most young people today have never seen anything like that outside of a museum.
Have a wonderful and blessed day!

By Boat or by Plane?

Good morning!  Today's layouts are all about traveling.  I used the amazing Graphic 45 papers for this layout. I cut the boat with the Cricut and the used a crimper to give it some texture. The word "Memories" is made out of wood.

I also cut out the airplane using the Heritage Cricut cartridge.  The "postage stamp" photo mats are from the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge.

This metal airplane is a button cover.  I found it at a vintage flea market.  It looks so cool in this layout.

Purple!!!

Good morning!  I am not a purple person at all, except when Prima makes something purple.  Yes, I made this layout in different tones and shades of purple using Prima's Firefly Collection.

You can see it better in this close up picture.

This layout was one of the kits I designed for Paper Niche last month.  It sold out the same day!  I am glad there are purple lovers out there because it sure is pretty in flowers.  It looks like butterflies like purple, too.

And Steve looks awesome in purple too! I guess I might have to change my mind about purple!

I never saw a Purple Cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one.

Have a wonderful  purply and blessed day!

Timeless

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a lovely weekend.  Mine was a great one spending it with family and rearranging my scrapbook room.  It is  finally looking where I dreamed it to be but I still have soooo many boxes to organize. I did not know that I had soooo much ribbon!

Today's layout is filled with beautiful laces, trims, flowers, leaves, wooden embellishments, pearls, bling, and metal pieces. This was a layout I designed for Paper Niche last month. The background paper has the look  of wood and it is a beautiful rose pink color.

Did I tell you that I LOVE flowers? (just kidding....I know that you see them in every one of my layouts!).

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

I Love Prima!

Wow... this week just flew by!  I can't believe it's Friday already!  Well, another weekend is ahead of us. Time to rest and to scrap, right?

Today's layouts are filled with Prima papers, embellishments and flowers.  I must admit it; I'm a PA (Prima Addict).  Shhhh...it's a secret.

Mid-week the entire family traveled from Florida to Ft. Jackson, South Carolina to celebrate my nephew Ivan's graduation from boot camp.  Here is a photo of Ivan with my sister.  He looks so nice in his uniform.

Have a wonderful, safe and blessed weekend.

Lifestory

Good morning! Prima is one of my favorite product lines out there.  I love the fact that everything in a collection matches. I designed this layout for Paper Niche. This picture does not do justice to the beautiful colors of these papers and embellishments.

Flowers, butterflies, ribbon, lace and beautiful papers.  Wow, what a combination that is!  Working with a product line like Prima makes scrapbooking so much easier!

Have a fabulous and blessed day!

Loving life

Good morning!

New Prima Collections

Happy Wednesday!  Have you seen the new Prima Collections?  They are ALL so beautiful!  I got a chance to play with these two collections which are designed by Leeza Gibbons.  She visited Paper Niche when she was in South Florida and these two layouts were made into kits for the occasion.

This collection is called "Wishes and Dreams".  I love the brown, yellow and aqua together.

This collection is called "Wishful Thinking".

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Animal Lover

Good morning!  What a joy it is to take care of Andrew.  Now that he is older we take him on "field trips" several times a week.  One of his favorite places to visit is Petsmart.  He loves to check out all the animals, especially the dogs, the cats and the birds (the animals that actually move around).

I made this layout wanting to reflect his love for animals. You can see it better here in this picture.

This other layout is one I designed for Treasured Memories in Lafayette and my sweet friend Janet sent me her finished project.  I love, love, love her title! She scrapped photos from when we were together in New Orleans last Fall. Thank you Janet for sharing these precious memories!

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

The day after.....

Good morning!  Hope you had a sweet Valentine's day.  As I told you, my date was Andrew and his mommy, Valerie.  We had a fabulous time dancing to the beat of Baby Genius kiddie songs, eating Grandma's Venezuelan cooking and watching Andrew open his bag of goodies.

This is the banner I made for this special occasion. I cut the hearts and the letters using the George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge.

The table was beautifully decorated with birds, flowers, candles, balloons, and lots of red glittered hearts in different sizes.

Andrew made two projects for his mommy. This heart for her plate (Grandma helped a little....).

This is a 12 x 12 black canvas framed. (I was inspired by Pinterest of course!)  These are his footprints made with Viva red modeling paste. The foot on the right looks bigger because I think I pressed too hard.  We didn't have time to fix it because immediately after making the prints, he was carried to a waiting bathtub and lots and lots of soap and water!

Andrew started the evening with a red bow tie, but took it off during the kiddie song dance-a-thon.

He loved his goody bag, specially his balloon.

And his ball.

 And his Elmo jammies!

For many years I had empty-nest syndrome. My kids were grown, married and living far away. I was lost in the world and I must admit, I was a little depressed.  Seventeen months ago our first grand-baby (Madison) was born and four months later Andrew came along. Wow.... what a turn my life took! Now our home is filled with much laughter, toys everywhere and many, many parties and holidays to celebrate.

Life is sweet, life is good indeed.

Going back to scrapbooking..... This is a Fall layout I designed for Treasured Memories.  Look at the tree how cute!  I used a burlap flower from Canvas Corp and embellished it with leaves cut out from one of the papers and buttons.

Have a fabulous, fun and blessed weekend!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, this adorable Cupid stopped by my house today and stole my heart!!!

He escaped and wandered around in the back yard for a while.

I want to share some of the layouts I've been making for this beautiful day.

I love you my Valentine!

I wish you a fabulous and blessed Valentine's Day and remember
the  precious gift of love Jesus gave to each one of us:

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

Love is in the Air...

Good morning!  We are one day away from St. Valentine's day! My daughter and I are having dinner with baby Andrew here at my house since our husbands will be working that evening. I have BIG plans for the three of us! I promise I will post pictures. In the meantime, here's a layout I made for that special day. These papers are from Prima, one of their older collections. They are fabulous! Love that little girl holding the balloons.

Do you have plans for Valentines Day?  In the meantime, have a wonderful and blessed day!

Life is sweet!

Good morning!  I have two layouts to show you today.  The first one is all about celebrating a birthday.  I found a great paper with ice cream cones that inspired me to cut out cupcakes and ice cream with my Cricut.  The background brown paper has sprinkles.  (You usually get charged extra for sprinkles, but in this case, I didn't!)

This next one is a layout I designed for Treasured Memories.  The papers are so rich in color.  I love them.

Life is sweet, indeed.  I met this precious lady named Alice when I went to the Scrap-a-Teers event in New Orleans last Fall.  She loved to scrap and had a great time on all the projects that we did that weekend.  We got a chance to share our thoughts and faith, and I also got to make this layout for her. She was wanting large Fall flowers for the layout, but we just couldn't find any amongst all of the participants.  Well, Miss Alice "disappeared" for a little while and when she came back, she had with her the most beautiful, large Fall flowers!  We couldn't figure out where she got them since nobody at the event had anything at all like that and there weren't any stores close to the event.

She finally let on that she had found a closet in the storage room in the back and "went shopping" for her Fall Flowers!  She was so happy with how her layout turned out.  I am so glad to have this picture of the two of us showing her layout.

Her friends told me that she was looking forward to our next event in April.  Unfortunately, Miss Alice had a very bad fall and went to be with the Lord last week.  I want to honor her today by sharing our brief meeting in this world.  You see, this is what scrapbooking is all about to me.  The new faces, the sweetest smiles, the warmest hugs and the new friendships that are developed through this beautiful hobby.  I will remember you always, Miss Alice.  Thank you for coming into my life even if it was just for a weekend.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Deer Hunting Season is Over, but....

Thank God it's Monday!  Time for another week to scrap and to share.  This is our son Danny the day after the deer hunting season was over in Louisiana. We got him a delayed Christmas present because all he wanted was hunting gear (on sale) so he could get a lot of stuff.  Well, the package finally arrived and this is the photo he sent  us.  (In case you are wondering... he will be 26 on Sunday but he is still a little boy at heart!).  We hope he takes the tags off before he goes out into the woods!  He'll be a lot more hidden that way.

These layouts are dedicated to him. He did go hunting and he did have fun last season wearing borrowed clothes from his hunting buddies.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!
