Deer Hunter

Good morning and happy, happy Friday!  I hope that you have great plans for the weekend.  I'm going to be getting ready to see my surgeon on Monday, to show him how well I'm coming along, so I really have to behave these next three days!

This is a layout that I made for a customer.  It turned out so good that I decided to make it into a kit, as well!  These outdoorsy type themes are very popular.

Thanks for logging in today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Twinkle Toes

Good morning and happy Thursday!  Every day I'm getting stronger and stronger.  Unfortunately, there are days when I overdo it and pay for it the next day.  Yesterday was such a day, so I've promised myself to pace myself today.

Here is a layout that I made back in July.  My oldest granddaughter has started taking ballet lessons.  As soon as I get some pictures, this is the layout that they'll go in.  I think that the combination of pinks, grays and black has to be my absolute favorite.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

School Daze

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Here are a couple of layouts that I made using the same embellishments, but different papers.  As you can see, they are both very different.

And here are pictures of my two school age grandchildren,  Madison who is 6 and in 1st grade ...

... and Andrew who is in kindergarten

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

By the Sea

Good morning and happy new week!  Well, I did it.  I completed a two page layout over the weekend.  This one is called By the Sea and it uses papers from Heartfelt Creations.  There was absolutely no Bending, no Lifting and no Twisting done while making this layout!  (Very important.)

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a wonderful, creative and blessed day.

Memories Forever

Good morning and happy Friday!  Well, I was actually able to complete a single page layout yesterday.  It's titled Memories Forever and makes a great layout for the first or the last page of a scrapbook.

What makes it difficult is the body brace that I have to wear anytime that I'm out of the bed.  For walking it's fine, but it severely limits my movements, especially when sitting down.  Fortunately I had a friend and neighbor over to help get things for me as I'm not allowed to bend, twist or reach.  Fortunately I'm getting stronger every day.  My next goal is for a two-page layout!

Thanks for visiting today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Lakeside Property

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Well, we are finishing up with Hurricane Irma.  It arrived here Sunday night and, fortunately, did not cause the amount of damage here that it did elsewhere in the State.  For that we are thankful.

Our daughter and her family moved into their new home on Saturday and by Monday morning they were stranded.  There is just one street into and out of the neighborhood and it was under 8 feet of water.

Here is our view of them when we went by Monday.  (Andrew is in the red shirt.)

And here is their view of us.  (Our gray van is just above Valerie's head.)

Fortunately, they had electricity and more than enough supplies.  They also had a LOT of boxes that needed to be unpacked.

We were planning to go back on Tuesday with our kayak and shuttle things back and forth, but a kind-hearted neighbor whose back yard butts up to a single lane road to the west of them took out two sections of his fence so that cars could enter and exit through his yard.  Joey the panda was delivered to Carolina in the nick of time and George got a new chainsaw & fuel.  What stories they will have to tell!

Here is an older layout of mine that is perfect for pictures of their new lakefront property.

My Car

Good morning and happy Thursday!  We're still waiting for the arrival (or not) of Hurricane Irma.  Either way we will get a lot of rain and wind.  My sister and niece were ordered to evacuate from Ft. Lauderdale and arrived here very early this morning.  It's nice to have the company.

Here is a layout that I made on request.  I liked it so much that I decided to turn it into a kit dedicated to all of those "gear heads" out there.

Thanks for making a "pit stop" at my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Handyman

Good morning and happy Wednesday.  Yesterday I ventured out of the house for a little bit with my hubby to go to the supermarket.  What a mistake that was!  There's a hurricane headed towards Florida so everyone and their brother was out.  We made one loop of the parking lot and then headed to our favorite fruit and vegetable market where the crowd was close to normal.  Fortunately, they don't sell water, batteries, flashlights or generators.  By then I was tired so I stayed in the car.

Here is a layout from July titled Handyman.  If Hurricane Irma heads this way we're going to need a lot of these!

Labor Day - Last Day of Summer

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Yesterday was the first day that I actually went into my studio.  I passed by it on the way to my bedroom when I came back from the rehab center on Saturday and saw that my DH had stacked heavy boxes and bins at the door.  That was his way of keeping me out of there until I was ready.  Yesterday he took the boxes away so that I could enter.

Unfortunately, I was only able to stay for about 15 minutes before I needed to to go back to my room and lie down for a while.  All in all, I made a total of four 15 minute visits yesterday.  It's going to be a while before I'm able to have those marathon sessions in there like I used to do.

Well, since yesterday was Labor Day and the official end of Summer, I'm going to sneak a couple of layouts in.  These are from my July batch of kits.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  And thanks for your continued best wishes and prayers.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Back Home, Finally

Good morning, happy Monday and happy Labor Day!  After nearly a month I'm finally home!  I still have a lot of recuperation and therapy over the next several weeks and months.  The visiting nurse came to our house yesterday and told me that I should try to live my life as much as I am able.  I don't think that she meant being in my studio for hours on end like I used to do.  I will have to find a balance.  I'm hoping to get into my studio for a little while today.  Wish me luck and health!

Here are a couple of older layouts of  mine dealing with the subject of "Home".  I'm sooo glad to be here!

Thanks for all of your prayers during this ordeal.  They are truly appreciated.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Nurses Care

Good morning and happy, happy Friday.  Well, I was moved yesterday from the hospital to a nursing home for rehab.  I could be here anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks.  It's a very nice facility and I've already met some very nice people (no scrap bookers yet, but there's always time to convert them!)  My daughter tells me that I need to be careful because some women might think that their husbands will become interested in the "pretty young woman" who just moved in!  I don't feel all that pretty with my body brace and my walker, but at 59 I'm probably the youngest resident.

Here's an older layout of mine about nurses titled Nurses Care.  They really do around here.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day and a safe and restful weekend!

Doctors!!!

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  Well, another day in the hospital.  I thought that I would be going home (or at least to rehab) yesterday.  Yesterday morning they decided to run so blood tests on me just as a precaution and they found several things "out of whack".  Soooo ...it looks like at least one more day until I'm out of here.

In the meantime, here's an older layout of mine about doctors.  I've seen a few this past week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Enjoy Every Moment

Good morning and happy Friday.  Here is the layout that I picked for today even before I went into the hospital.  It's titled Enjoy Every Moment.  A most appropriate title as I've had a minor setback and will have to go back into surgery today to repair leaking spinal fluid.  My surgeon tells me that it is a simple surgical procedure so I thank God for that.

Thanks for all of your prayers.  I will continue to need them.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Lighthouse & Fun Summer

Good morning and happy Thursday!  Slowly but surely I am on the road to recovery.  All of your prayers and well wishes are truly appreciated.

Here is my custom back brace which was delivered to my room yesterday.  The very first thing that my wise guy DH said when he saw it was "Really???  They had to label this side as "FRONT"?

Here I am taking it for a spin.  My daughter says that I look like a Star Wars Storm Trooper.  Guess the theme of the very first scrapbook page that I'm going to make when I get home.  It's a good thing that they took a picture of me leaving my room.  Five minutes later when I came back I was not as cheerful.

And here I am with "Joey", my granddaughter's favorite stuffed animal which she wanted me to have at the hospital.  She told me "Lita, Joey is going to take care of you."

Here are a couple of summertime layouts that I made before I went to the hospital.

Memories & Timeless

Good morning and happy Wednesday.  I'm writing this blog post early, because I knew that I would be in no condition on Tuesday evening to write it.  Here are another two single page layouts that I made before my surgery, while using up some leftover odds and ends in my studio.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Have a wonderful and blessed day.

(Bea's surgery lasted over six hours yesterday.  She finally got out of the Recovery Room and into her regular hospital room around midnight.  Our daughter spent the night with her so she was able to rest some.  The med's she was given might have also helped her sleep a little bit.)

Family & Always Remember

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  I say this with some reservation as I go under the knife for my back for the 5th time.  My doctor tells me that this will be the last time I will ever be able to operated on for my back, so I ask for God to guide his hands and make me better.

Here a couple of single page layouts that I made over the weekend.  Family and remembrances are two very important things for me and for most scrapbookers.  Everything after that is just a detail.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Keep me in your prayers.  I will keep you informed as I convalesce this week.  God bless.

Today is a special day

Good morning! Today is a very special day for me because it's my 59 birthday! . I thank the Lord for blessing me with sooo many days! My family has been amazing and have filled me with love, tons of presents, cards, dinners and cakes. Birthdays in our family are about a week long and we have to wear our birthday hat as well.

Here's a layout ready to be used.

Now, tomorrow is another day.... I am having my 5th back surgery at 11:00 am. The doctor told me that he is going to fix me up and this will be my last one ever.  Please pray for me! Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Sunshine & Happiness

Good morning and happy end of the week!  I hope you had a great one.  For the first time in several weeks, I'm not going out of town for the weekend.  Don't know what I'll do.  Probably just stay at HOME and crop!

Here's a layout that I recently made.  I like the way it turned out.  I like the lady withe the big sunglasses and the scarf.  She looks very 60's.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a blessed day and a safe and restful weekend.

Reign Renaissance - Weekend #2

Good morning and happy Friday!  Yesterday was the first day of the second weekend of Treasured Memories Rayne Scrapbooking Event.  One of the most fun things are the table decorations where the crop participants try to out-do each other.  The displays are absolutely amazing.  Some ladies have been working on theirs for nearly a year, since the theme was first announced.  The theme this year was Reign Renaissance.

Tea Party, Louisiana Style

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  We are between events in Louisiana so we're able to take it easy a little bit.  Yesterday my friend Vicky & I went to La Madeleine for lunch.  Here we are messing around with a stack of tea pots.  And yes, they are all glued together!  Everyone knows that I cannot even carry a glass of water to the table without spilling it.

Later in the afternoon, I made this layout in which to put the pictures.  It is made from papers from Heartfelt Creations.

Hike

Good morning and happy Tuesday.

Last month we went on vacation.  One of our stops was in the Great Smokey Mountains.  Here we got to engage in many outdoor activities, including hiking.  One trail was high up in the mountains, but it was very smooth.  Unfortunately, this was not adventurous enough for Andrew and Carolina, so they decided to climb up some rocks on the side of the trail.

Here's the new layout where these photos are going to be preserved.

You can see this and other layouts kits for sale here on my blog.  Just click on the Happy Shopper at the top of the page and you'll go straight to that page.

Rayne Renaissance Event

Good morning and happy Monday!  Well, the first weekend of the Rayne Scrapbooking Event is over.  It is sad, but knowing that in just a few days that there's another is a wonderful thing.

The theme this year was Renaissance.  Everybody was really getting into the theme (well, most everybody).

Here's our amazing host, Janet, getting into the theme.

Here's Khaleessi Janet, Mother of Dragons, with her two escorts.

OK, I finally decided to get into it.  Here's Queen Beatriz (Queen Bea is someone else.)

And just so you don't think that it was all fun and games, here's one of the layouts and kits that we made.  Wait a minute!  That's fun and games, too!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
