new paper, new inspiration!

Ahhh..... I have to admit I am totally addicted to paper! I bought some of the new Heidi Swapp paper at the Crop in Lafayette and tonight I finally got my hands on it... it is so sweet, delicate and beautiful! I had the perfect pictures to scrap. One set was my daughter Valerie's Christmas party. Everybody seemed to be dressed in turquoise! (maybe they knew about Heidi???) and the other pictures were taken in Lafayette. The flowers were blooming, the temperature was in the 70's in a sunny afternoon, in other words, a perfect day! (maybe the flowers knew about her new colors as well!!!!).I also made a few cards with new awesome Spring paper. This has been a very relaxed night, all by myself in my studio listening to worship music while I scrap. Moments like this refresh my spirit and renew my strenght to keep on going....to be in perfect peace.

Everyday is a beautiful day!

Today was one of those days that you just live it moment by moment. I imagine children live their life like that. They do not think about their wants, their needs, their past or future, they just live the moment. If they are hungry they know who to go to for food, if they are sleepy they lay their heads in someone's lap, a chair or the floor. Today was one of those days, childlike I'd say. Thank you Lord for leading me today. I rest in You tonight knowing and trusting You are in control of my life and the lives of those whom I love. Thank you.

Carrousel of Cards

Tonight I ventured to post some of the cards I've made lately. I notice that I get overwhelmed by so many beautiful products, colors, cutting machines, dies, and ideas! When I start I do not know when to stop! If I use a particular punch or die I want to make many of the same. My daughter Valerie sells them for me in Gainesville among her co-workers and friends and they like this clean-cut style. This is great for me because I can keep making them and keep the addiction going!!! Do you know what I mean?????? I taught at Paper Niche tonight the same class I taught last Saturday. I showed them how to use Fantasy film, two-way glue, fine glitter, and lace. It was a lot of fun and they loved it. I have glitter from the top of my head to the tip of my toes...I will shine for Jesus tonight!!!!

My "relaxed" cards

Bezalel & Oholiab (Exodus 31:3-6) have become my best friends!!!!! I was hired by a scrapbook company who makes their own "goodies" to create pages and cards for them. I must confess that I have never worked with those tools and materials before and I was dreading it! (can you believe that from me???). Anyhow, I went on my knees and asked the Lord for help once again. He took me to this passage of scripture where he actually annoints these two guys with "skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts"!!!! Can you believe that? Well, I said: "If you annointed them, could you please give it to me too and help me do this job for these people?". Sure enough... my hands worked faster than I have ever seen them and the samples turned out pretty good. It took me less time than I had planned and boy, was I ever relieved! How did I relax afterwards? By making some more cards, but this time it was with whatever I could find in my "secret box"! Here they are...

Treasured Memories Mega Crop, March 6-8, 2009

What a great weekend I had at the Treasured Memories Mega Crop in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. The theme was "It's cropping time in Paris". It was decorated with the Eiffel Tower backed by city lights, chandelier, sheer draperies, French hats and adorable pink, black an white feather boas. The classes were amazing and the techniques I learned are fabulous! Jenni Bowlin taught us the beauty of antique papers and embellishments which she has collected over the years and use them in her classes. Janet, thank you once again for outdoing yourself!
