Grandkids

Goodbye May! This year has been flying away!!!! Crazy...

This is one of the layouts I made over the weekend. Most of us in the Hive are grandmas and we love, love, love to scrap those babies!

Here's the group photo from the Hive Memorial Day Celebration. Linda Hall is our Event Coordinator/Administrator/Mentor/the-one-who-keeps-us-in-line/etc., etc., etc. and she did an awesome job putting together games, prizes, decorations, food, props, and making sure we wore coordinating outfits!

Friends are a gift from God. I love these women soooo much!

Swim

Good morning and happy Wednesday!!! Hope you had a lovely long weekend. I was in Alabama with my friends and I scrapped 4 days in a row! I was sooo inspired by the picture of Andrew and Carolina that their mother texted me that I made several summer/beach related layouts. This is one of them.

They spent the weekend at their other grandparents' house in Ormond Beach.

Let the rain stop and the summer-like weather begin!!!! Have a fabulous and blessed day!

Queen of Scrapbooking

Good morning! Are you ready for the long weekend? I am loving the sales this year. I bought a dress for my daughter for $1.45 at Belk's! They had racks and rack and more racks filled with $1.99 items. On top of that they had a coupon for 30% off, including sale items! A candy bar costs more than that!

I am off to Alabama this weekend to crop with my Hive. Four days of cropping, laughing, shopping and eating! All I need is a bunch of pictures for my layouts.

Have a fabulous, safe, fun and blessed weekend!

5 de Mayo

Good morning! I've learned that "when life gives you lemons you make lemonade"!

Here's a little fun story about Danny while at the hospital. After his surgery, all of the doctors & nurses were asking him the exact same questions every time they entered the room; "What's your name?", "What year is this?", "What's today's date?", "Do you know where you are?", "What city are we in?", and so on.  They were, of course, trying to gauge his memory recovery progress.  At first, he struggled mightily and gave many wrong answers.  After about a week he was getting the answers correct and when they walked into his room he would answer "Danny Farquhar, 2018, Rush Medical Center, April 30th, Chicago, and so on before they even asked.  He told them that they needed to get some new questions.

The next day the doctor asked him what the next holiday coming up was, expecting to hear "Mothers' Day".  Instead, Danny answered "Cinco de Mayo"!  Well, we couldn't just let that pass.  Since Danny loves Mexican food, we surprised him with a Cinco de Mayo party!!! We had virgin margaritas, amazing authentic Mexican food, decorations and even a piñata!

We got permission for him to come down from ICU to the private waiting room that the hospital had let us use and have a real celebration!

Waiting for Danny

The Cinco de Mayo crew.

Madison Rose hitting the piñata.  We had to improvise hanging it & finding something to hit it with.

And here's the layout that I had back home waiting for the photos!

Hug, kiss and tell your loved ones you love them! Life can change in a split second. This ordeal with my son has been another life-changing experience for me and my family. Life is fragile! Do not take it lightly. Be blessed and have a fabulous day!

Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday! Do you have any plans for Memorial Day weekend? I am off to Alabama to be with my Hive for 4 days! We are planning to scrap till we drop, eat, shop and then crop some more! I'm glad I am going away because we have rain in the forecast for the next week or so.

This is one of my latest kits dedicated to my sister who's birthday is on the 27th of this month.  I love the unique circular overlay.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderfully blessed and special day.

I Am Back!!!

Hello dear friends,

I am back home after spending almost a month in Chicago with our son Danny. In case you missed it, he suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm right after he pitched at a baseball game on Friday, April 20th in Chicago (He plays for the Chicago White Sox).  He had brain surgery the following day performed by Dr. Demetrius Lopes at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Three weeks later he went from ICU to his home!!!

God not only spared his life but is healing him completely! All I want to do is smile and praise the Lord, our Savior and Healer. I can't wait to see Danny share his testimony! Even though we walked thru the valley of the shadow of death, we did not fear because my family and I knew that the Lord went before us

So many people prayed for him. We were overwhelmed by the response of love, encouraging words, help, letters, and helped we received during this trial time. Thank you for all you did for us, most of all, for your prayers.

I am back in business as well! I have been scrappin' again and it feels soooo good to be back to normal.  I have posted a new batch of kits on this blog.  To see them just click on the shopper to the left.  Send me an e-mail to let me know which kits that you would like and I'll get them to you.

Here is my newest favorite photo of me with Danny.

Thanks for coming to my blog today.  Have a wonderful, glorious and blessed day!
