Good morning! If you have been following my blog this year you might have read that I was hired to do an entire nursery for a very special baby girl. As promised, here is Emily Grace's nursery. I will try to describe it as much as possible. The banner with her name is done with the Cricut and I used Story Book for the font. Each banner is filled with laces, ribbons, crystals and bling. I used Prima papers. Each banner is backed with styrofoam poster board to keep them stiff and prevent them from curling over time. The crown above the name was specially designed for Emily by a local artist.
This is the chandelier in the center of the room. The lamp shades are decorated individually.
This picture doesn't do justice to this piece. It is a huge circular metal frame for the baby's monthly pictures. Each frame is decorated with lace, flowers, bling and Prima and Teresa Collins resin pieces. A professional artist painted the swirls on the walls. It really brings everything to life, it was the perfect touch.
These are some photo frames (decorated as well to match the room's decor) and a box which I made using the Metal Art technique. The box has her name on it.
This is the beautiful Kaisercraft birdcage which sits in one of the walls. Check out the wings of the bird! They are metal wings.
There are frames throughout the room all decorated in the same fashion.
My husband "engineered" this hair bow holder. It is a large picture frame onto which he removed the backing & stretched chicken wire across the back. Each headband/bow is held my hand-decorated clothespins. The frame is about 24" x 36".
These frames are 14" x 14". They are made using the same fabric as the crib set.
This started out as a plain pedestal. See how pretty it turned out with a little paint, some prisms & flowers!
Look at this piggy bank! Her mommy wanted it to match the decor of Baby Emily's room. The pig even has a crown and a tutu to go with her fancy shoes!
The switch plates had to match the room, too! So.... here they are, all handmade, done with the Metal Art technique. We started with plain wood switch plates from Home Depot. My husband made certain that none of the foil in the back would come in contact with the wiring. (That could be bad!)
This little cradle sits by Emily's crib. It is hand-painted just like the walls and it has the baby's initials, also decorated just like the rest of the room.
