New Cricut cartridges for $30!!!!

My friend called me from Ft. Lauderdale this morning to tell me that Wallmart has all the new Cricut cartridges for $30. I went to my local Wallmart but they did not have any of them. So I went back home, printed Wallmart's offer and went to Michael's and asked the manager if they honor competitor's prices. Well, she said yes and I ended up buying  my Christmas present!!! I bought 7 of them...... including this "from my kitchen". So.... I played a little! The "chef" is a stamp from Stampin'Up!. I was jumping and hugging the manager.... (I bet she thought I was from Mars....).

More handmade cards!

As you can see, I have been very busy making greeting cards. I forgot how fun it is to make them! I've been scrapping way too much lately.

I spoke to Tammy at Paper Niche in South Florida today and it looks like I will be teaching there on Tuesday, December 8th at 6 pm. It will be a Christmas layout made with the cricut (Joys of the Season and Christmas Cheer). Can't wait!

Panama City Beach day trip

Steve and I drove to Panama City  Beach on Saturday. It is about 2 hours south of  Dothan.  It was very cold and windy but the beauty of the  color of the water and the white sandy beaches made it all worth it.

Christmas Cards 2009

I have been asked to make Christmas Cards by a few of my friends this year. I still sell them at $2 each including the envelopes. I have made over 50 designs all together. These are some which  I finished today. It's starting to smell like Christmas...................!!!!!

Cricut DoodleCharms baby page

I keep working on my Baby album.... I used Doodlecharms Cricut  Cartridge to make this page and it turned out so cute! I also bought my Scrapbook Bucket at Treasured Memories last weekend. I added the handle. It is so cool! It turns and it is very light. You can fit so much stuff in it. It comes very handy, even if you scrap at home.

Designer of the Month: "Connie Girard".

After spending a weekend with my mentor, teacher & inspiration, Connie Girard, I decided to dedicate an article every month to my favorite scrapbooker. This first month is dedicate to her.

Connie, mother of three wonderful children & grandmother of five amazing grandchildren was born & raised in Lafayette, Louisiana.  A woman of many passions, she's been the manager of Red's Health Club for 35 years.  She first discovered scrapbooking when her first grandchild was born about 7 1/2 years ago.  Her major inspirations still come from her grandchildren and her love for scrapbooking has brought her family closer together.

At that time she met Janet Crochet, founder and owner of Treasured Memories.  Janet was impressed with her talent and asked Connie to teach at the store.  Connie let all of the creativity flowing through her veins explode.  One of her very special talents is that she does not teach her students to copy her style, but to explore and develop their own.  She loves to see the creativity in each of her students evolve and bloom in their own way.

One of her favorite past times is to visit antique shops  in the area. Her pages contain antique items such as postcards, records, feathers, buttons, laces, ribbons, metal Fleur de Lis, flowers and jewels dating back to the early 1940's and 50's.

She also has a passion for photography and Photoshop, and enjoys combining them with scrapbooking in incredibly unique ways.  Once you take one of her classes, you will never take of photgraph or make a scrapbook page the same as before.  Her classes are always full with people coming from miles and miles to experience her warmth and talent.  If you have never been in one of her classes, you have no idea of what you are missing.

I am posting  some of the work she did during Paula's crop last weekend. You can also visit her blog at: http://trmemories.com/ under Connie Girard. Enjoy!

Pages I made over the weekend

These are some of the pages I got done over the weekend. I am still working on the 80-page baby album and I made this Christening layout in creams, beiges and white.  It turned out very elegant. I played with  the new Prima flowers, Graphics 45 Christmas pages, the new Webster pages and everything else I got my hands on!

Weekend Crop at the "Ladybug Lodge" in Lafayette, LA

Paula had a 4-day crop at her lodge in Lafayette, Louisiana. It was so much fun! We scrapped non-stop from Thursday at noon until Sunday late afternoon. I am ALWAYS amazed at the talent in that side of the world... I go there every chance I get just to get inspired and to recharge my creative juices!!! Wendy fell off her chair and Paula went to her rescue... it was pretty funny! These layouts belong to Wendy, Connie and Paula. I made the pink  baby card. I will post all the layouts I finished over the weekend  later on today.
