Designer of the Month: "Connie Girard".

After spending a weekend with my mentor, teacher & inspiration, Connie Girard, I decided to dedicate an article every month to my favorite scrapbooker. This first month is dedicate to her.

Connie, mother of three wonderful children & grandmother of five amazing grandchildren was born & raised in Lafayette, Louisiana.  A woman of many passions, she's been the manager of Red's Health Club for 35 years.  She first discovered scrapbooking when her first grandchild was born about 7 1/2 years ago.  Her major inspirations still come from her grandchildren and her love for scrapbooking has brought her family closer together.

At that time she met Janet Crochet, founder and owner of Treasured Memories.  Janet was impressed with her talent and asked Connie to teach at the store.  Connie let all of the creativity flowing through her veins explode.  One of her very special talents is that she does not teach her students to copy her style, but to explore and develop their own.  She loves to see the creativity in each of her students evolve and bloom in their own way.

One of her favorite past times is to visit antique shops  in the area. Her pages contain antique items such as postcards, records, feathers, buttons, laces, ribbons, metal Fleur de Lis, flowers and jewels dating back to the early 1940's and 50's.

She also has a passion for photography and Photoshop, and enjoys combining them with scrapbooking in incredibly unique ways.  Once you take one of her classes, you will never take of photgraph or make a scrapbook page the same as before.  Her classes are always full with people coming from miles and miles to experience her warmth and talent.  If you have never been in one of her classes, you have no idea of what you are missing.

I am posting  some of the work she did during Paula's crop last weekend. You can also visit her blog at: http://trmemories.com/ under Connie Girard. Enjoy!
