Good morning! I've learned that "when life gives you lemons you make lemonade"!
Here's a little fun story about Danny while at the hospital. After his surgery, all of the doctors & nurses were asking him the exact same questions every time they entered the room; "What's your name?", "What year is this?", "What's today's date?", "Do you know where you are?", "What city are we in?", and so on. They were, of course, trying to gauge his memory recovery progress. At first, he struggled mightily and gave many wrong answers. After about a week he was getting the answers correct and when they walked into his room he would answer "Danny Farquhar, 2018, Rush Medical Center, April 30th, Chicago, and so on before they even asked. He told them that they needed to get some new questions.
The next day the doctor asked him what the next holiday coming up was, expecting to hear "Mothers' Day". Instead, Danny answered "Cinco de Mayo"! Well, we couldn't just let that pass. Since Danny loves Mexican food, we surprised him with a Cinco de Mayo party!!! We had virgin margaritas, amazing authentic Mexican food, decorations and even a piñata!
We got permission for him to come down from ICU to the private waiting room that the hospital had let us use and have a real celebration!
Waiting for Danny

Madison Rose hitting the piñata. We had to improvise hanging it & finding something to hit it with.
And here's the layout that I had back home waiting for the photos!
Hug, kiss and tell your loved ones you love them! Life can change in a split second. This ordeal with my son has been another life-changing experience for me and my family. Life is fragile! Do not take it lightly. Be blessed and have a fabulous day!
