Laugh & Play Forever

Good morning and happy Wednesday.  I hope that your week is going well, so far.  The title of this layout is "Laugh & Play Forever".  So often we get so wrapped up in all of the busy things in life that we forget to stop and have a little fun.

Here are my grand kids on the second day of Andrew's Summer vacation.  Next week he starts back up at his pre-school in what they're calling Summer Camp.  He was having a rough time his last week of school thinking about not seeing his school friends (his posse) so his Mom was able to get him enrolled at camp.  This has made him a "happy camper" as you can see here.

Geared Up for Fun

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  What a wonderful time I had with The Hive over the weekend, but I'm glad to be home so that I can catch up of sleep and rest.

After flowers and butterflies, my two favorite things to scrap with are clocks and gears.  Hear's an example of gear "overdrive".  (I think that might be the name of a TV show, but I'm not sure.)  It has gear paper and chipboard gears.  It's a great layout for little "Gear Heads" and grown ones, too.

World Traveler

Good morning and happy Friday!  Today I am off for Dothan, Alabama for a holiday weekend crop with the Hive.  I am excited beyond words.

In my younger days I was quite a World Traveler.  For those of you unfamiliar with my background, go to my profile over in the left-hand column.  These days I'm content to stay at home and scrap in my little studio,  Of course, I still love to travel, as long as scrapbooking is involved!

Smile for the Camera

Good morning and happy Thursday!  The weekend is coming and I'm excited since I'll be heading to Dothan, Alabama to scrap with the Hive over the long holiday weekend.

Here is a layout from my last batch of kits.  To make people smile, many photographers tell their subjects to say "Cheeeeeeese".  This would not work very well in my country because everyone would be saying "Quesooooooo" which would make for some very funny photos.  Instead we would say "Whiskey"  (same word in both languages) and the pictures turned out just fine.

My daughter is an amateur photographer who gets hired a lot to take outdoor family portraits.  She has a number of ways to get the children in these photos to cooperate and look at the camera and smile while she snaps the shutter.  Thank goodness for digital cameras since she would waste a lot of film otherwise, getting them all to cooperate at the same time.

Good morning! Are you enjoying this warm weather? I sure am. We spent the weekend in St. Pete visiting our son and got a chance to go to the beach and to the pool. The weather was fabulous.

Farm Friends

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Today I am with my daughter & family at Disney in Orlando.  My husband (not a big Disney fan) is staying home so he doesn't miss a dentist appointment.  He tells us that he would prefer root canal to the lines at Disney.  What a party pooper!

Here is a recent layout of mine featuring farm animals.  There is a working 1880's farm near us where my grandchildren love to visit.  They are especially fond of Penny the cow.

Heartfelt Creations

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope that your week is going well so far.

I've been working with some Heartfelt Creations papers recently, which I absolutely adore!  Here are a couple of layouts with a tropical flair.

Here is my daughter and her kids at our hotel this past weekend on their way to the swimming pool. They just had to stop and pose for some memorable pictures before heading outdoors.  Both the fish and the mermaid stayed in the lobby.

Treasure Hunt

Good morning and happy Tuesday!  My DH grew up with a very involved father who was always doing fun activities with the kids and grand kids.  His most memorable was the "Bear Hunt", which he'd happily lead at all family gatherings.  Now that he's gone, one of his grandchildren has picked up the mantle and will carry on the tradition.

It's not surprising, then, that my DH is very much the same.  This past weekend he "found" a treasure map while we were with the grandchildren in St. Petersburg. so we all set out on a quest.  After passing Octopus Caverns, Blue Lagoon, Volcano Lake and the Secret Pirate Fort, to name a few landmarks, the kids located the X on the beach.  And as we all know, X always marks the spot.

The kids dug up a wooden treasure chest filled with doubloons, gold necklaces and precious gems. What a great memory, all documented with photos.

Princess Aurora's

Good morning and happy Monday!  I hope that all of you had a great weekend.  As I mentioned on Friday, we all went to St. Petersburg to visit our son and his family.  What a great time we had.

One of the high points of the weekend was my gift of matching Princess Aurora dolls and dresses for my two granddaughters.  Here they are in the back yard modelling their new outfits.

Cropping with the Hive

Good morning and happy Monday!  I just got back last night from a weekend of cropping in Dothan, Alabama with The Hive.  This meeting was dedicated to "Mandy", my newest Dilaudid Darling from my recent back surgery.  Mandy came to visit me with 23 of her closest friends as I was waking up from anesthesia.

Here's one of the layouts that I made.  I didn't make as many as I usually did because I'm still recuperating and had to rest frequently.  The hotel actually brought a cot into the crop room to accommodate me.

Needless to say, there were flamingos everywhere I looked.  Here are just a couple.
