Good morning!  Well, we made it through another week.  Today marks the start of Labor Day Weekend, the official end of Summer.  Many folks will be out enjoying one last cookout and that is the theme of these three layouts. 

 

 

As for me, I'll be celebrating Labor Day from the comfort of my bed.  I'm hoping to be released from the hospital today now that all of my tubes and connections have been removed.  My doctor told me yesterday that he's going out of town for the weekend and does not like to release anyone when he's not around.  Uh-oh!  I hope that doesn't mean that I'll be stuck here until Tuesday!  HELLLLLPPP!!!

Carolina just turned seven months old and started eating solids. Her first food besides her mom's milk was sweet potatoes. She loved them!

Good morning!  Well, my surgery went fairly well even though they weren't able to get everything accomplished that they hoped to.  Hopefully I will get to go home in a few short days.  Thank you all who have called and written.   It means the world to me!

Here are a couple of layouts I made recently inspired by my granddaughter Madison Rose who has been taking ballet classes. She loves it, especially when she gets to raise her arms above her head. Soooo cute!

Beach Time!

Good morning and happy Tuesday! Well, today is a big day for me as I am having another back surgery, probably as you are reading this post.  Please pray for me that it all be well.

Back to scrapbooking... I designed these layouts for Treasured Memories the last time I was there.  They're both about Summer and time at the beach.

Baseball is in the Air....

Good morning!  For those of you who follow baseball, you know that the 2014 season is in the final stretch.  I hope that your favorite team is doing well and is headed for the playoffs! This is one of my latest kits this week...

 

 

Here's a baseball layout I made and it actually has pictures in it!!!.  I bet you can figure that my favorite team is the Seattle Mariners......

This is my friend  Barb, a fellow scrapper and a huge Kansas City Royals fan.  Barb sent me the coolest stickers ever; Mariners stickers from Jolee's.

 

And here is another dear friend and fellow scrapper Katy from Yakima, Washington and her husband Tim.  They drove all the way to Seattle to watch a game.  I happened to be there that week celebrating my birthday.  (I'm the short one displaying the Mariners cookies that Katy brought.) 

 

George, Valerie and their babies are also big supporters.  They've even travelled to stadiums outside of Florida to watch Danny play.

 

 

Nothing like family and friends, right?  Hug them, tell them you love them and take lots and lots of pictures of them. Have a wonderful and blessed Monday!

Our Special Day

Good morning and happy Friday! Another week that just went by sooo fast!  In a way I am happy because I have been having back pain for a several weeks now and to my regret, I have to have another back surgery this coming Tuesday. At this point, I just want to be released from this pain and to be strong again for my family, especially my grandchildren.

 

I will still be blogging and posting my layouts, as well as I am able.  (Did I tell you my husband helps me with this blog among other things in my studio?  Yes, he is a keeper!)

 

I had so much fun making this layout with the title "Our Special Day". I used the metal bird which I think looks amazing on top of the layered cards on the upper left corner.  I hope you like it, too.

Black and Red

Good morning! I hope you like this color combo because today's post is all about it! I think black and white pictures look amazing in all of them.  You can either use old photos that you have or print your newer color ones to black and white.

Cutie Pies

Good morning!  Here is a layout that I made recently called "Cutie Pies".  While making it I couldn't help but to think of the three grandchildren I have.  Madison is almost 3, Andrew is 2 1/2 and Carolina is 7 months. Below are the "CUTIE PIE" photos that are going in this layout.

Best HIVE ever!

Good morning and happy Friday! Here's a layout I designed for Treasured Memories the last time I was there. Bees have a special meaning for me because of my name, of course, but also for my group of best friends.  We call ourselves "THE HIVE".

Dr. Seuss

Good morning! Don't you just love Dr. Seuss? This was one of my children's favorite books ever and now I am starting to read them to my grandchildren. So much fun! They've really stood the test of time.  Even my husband remembers them from when he was a kid!

School Time!

Good morning and happy Monday! I can't believe another school year is about to start. My son-in-law is a teacher and is starting his new school year today. (The kids here don't actually start until next week.) He is happy, but sad in a way because he has truly enjoyed being with Andrew and Carolina over the summer. I made these layouts recently. Even though I do not have any school age children anymore, I still love making them.

Purple layouts

Good morning! I do not scrap with the color purple very often and the reason is that I do not wear purple. (Yes, I dress to match my layouts.... don't you?). These papers have a story... I was with the Hive scrapbooking one weekend and we decided to do a project together. Well, I went shopping and  found 8 matching paper pads at Michael's. When they saw it they did not like it at all. No one said anything. Then I started playing with it and  designing layout after layout and when they saw them they all repented!!! ha ha ha.... just give me "ugly' paper and see what my hands can do with it.... (I am not bragging!!!).

 

Of course they all made them with their paper pads and now it is one of their favorites!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Good morning!  Today is my 56th birthday!  I thank God for giving these many years and I pray He will give me about 20 more so I can see my grandchildren graduate from high school.  I am actually spending my birthday in Seattle, Washington with my son Danny and his family.  My granddaughter Madison Rose has even baked a cake for me.

This is Andrew waiting for his mom to pick us up to go to the pool. He loves to wear his sunglasses and he tells me that he looks like his uncle Danny.  At 2-1/2 he is talking up a storm these days!  He's bi-lingual in that he knows that there are two words for everything and understands both, but he has preferences for some words in one language over the other.  He'll say things like "Those aren't grapes, they're uvas."
