Spiderman

Good morning!  Hope that your week is going well so far.
Last month we saw a lot of kids dressed up for Halloween as Spiderman.  Out of all of the old superheroes he seems to remain the most popular.  Inspired, I decided to make this kit.  (Plus, I had leftover spiderweb decorations that I could put to good use.)

November Story

Good morning!  Happy Tuesday.  Wow, I can't believe that this year is almost over.  It seems like only yesterday I had made January Story, a layout featuring a fancy window, and here we are with the eleventh and the twelfth and final layout of the series due shortly.

I have some ideas for a new series of layout for next year, but you'll just have to wait until I make up my mind.

Going Bananas on Black Friday

Good morning and happy Monday!  The Christmas season has officially started.  Here I am with my son and his family on Black Friday.  We are all wearing our official 2016 Black Friday shopping uniforms.  (Landon did not care for his head band at all.) My DIL made the shirts on her Cricut.

Shopaholic's of the World Unite!

I absolutely LOVE Black Friday!  It's quite possibly my most favorite day of the year!  I'm in California visiting my son and his family this year.  And although I plan to do my part and get to as many stores as possible, I won't be able to buy much.  My DH has already told me that if it doesn't fit in my suitcase, that I shouldn't buy it. Here's a layout for the shopaholic in all of us.

Good morning!  Well, I'm in Temecula with my son and his family.  We had a lovely weekend, but I'm itching to get out.  They have "The Big Three" here, but there are also two smaller stores in town.  I'll be checking them out today.  After all, a Big Mac tastes the same wherever you are, but the little places have their own unique flavor.

Good morning and happy Friday.  Yahoo, another week come and gone!  Tonight I leave for California to spend a week with my son and his family and I couldn't be more excited.

Arty Smarty

Good morning and happy Thursday!  I'm really enjoying my Copic markers these days.  Here's a layout of mine with a couple of Saturated Canary artisits colored with copics. 

When I went to pick up Andrew after pre-school the other day, his teachers asked about Carolina's pre-school.  I told them that she didn't attend one and they mentioned that Andrew had told them that she went to "Lita" school and took a lunchbox every day.  I told them that I was Lita and that we jokingly called my house the Lita Academy of Fine Arts.  I mean, where else do you get to glue paper butterflies while wearing butterfly wings?

Pirates!

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Here is a recent layout and kit of mine titled "Pirates!"

And here we are at Ft. Matanzas, a small restored Spanish fort in the intercoastal waterway about 25 miles south of St. Augustine.  It was built by the colonial Spanish in the 1700's to prevent attacks on St. Augustine from the rear.  But just try to convince a 4-year-old that this is not a pirate castle.  Andrew & Carolina showed up dressed for the occasion.  My DH, his sister and her husband humored them.

Turkey Time

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  I hope that everyone had a great weekend and that you're ready for a new and exciting week.

This is one of my favorite times of the year because of the beautiful weather and the bright Fall color.  Next Thursday is Thanksgiving, the traditional time of year when everyone sits down for a turkey dinner.  This year, I'm having two.  My Bible group will have one this Thursday.  So these next two weeks are "Turkey Time" for me!

Shopping Adventure

Good morning and happy Thursday!  Many of your know that I participate in a great traditon of Black Friday shopping.  My daughter and I plan our outing around the stores' opening times.  We want to be among the first ones in the stores.  We don't really buy all that much, but we love the atmosphere.

This year I'm going to be with our son and his family in Southern California.  He's a tough nut, but I'm hoping to get my DIL excited about this event.

Be Sure to Vote Today!

Good morning and happy Election Day 2016!  If you've not yet done so, please get out there and vote today.  In his live prayer broadcast last night, Franklin Graham stressed that it not just for the candidates on the ballot, but also for the next one to four choices for the Supreme Court which could affect our nation for the next 50 years.

Do your part.  Get out there and vote!

Fabulous Weekend

Storage Solutions

Good morning and happy Friday!  Today I travel with my friend Peggy to Whim So Doodle in St. Petersburg, Florida for a 3-day crop.  We are going to have fun.

I want to show you a couple of great solutions for storage.  The first one is a four-sided storage unit for punches made by the nephew of my friend Vicky.  He loves working with wood and made one for Vicky and one for me.  It's great because my punches are all in one spot and they are visible at a glance.  I have used other things previously like drawers, but I find that if my punches are out of sight, they are also out of mind!  This way I can use them all without digging for them.

Here is another solution,  These compartment holders are great because everything is visible.  Also, If I have to move to another area of my studio, I can pick up the whole holder and take it with me.  These are also made out of painted wood.

Here is a recent layout of mine titled "Advice from a Pumpkin".  My favorite is "Have Thick Skin".  From the pineapple we learn that we should "stand tall and wear a crown".  It's amazing how much great advice we can get from our fruits and vegetables.
