Taking a Turn for the Nurse

Good morning and happy Tuesday.  As most of you know, I've had my share of back problems over the years.  Yesterday I went under the knife one more (I wish I could say one last) time to remove the metal rods that had held my spine in place while it fused.  They are no longer needed and one of them had come loose (my DH says that it's not the only loose screw that I have) causing me pain.  Here I am ready to go in for surgery.

One of the reasons that I like this hospital so much is that they have the BEST anesthetics!  When I'm coming around I always have animals visit in the room.  After past surgeries there have been Anibal the tiger, Dora the giraffe and Julio the rooster, just to name a few.

This time was no exception.  I was visited by Mandy and 23 of her friends for a flamingo parade.  Once they all got into the room, they put on a show with dancing and twirling.  They even did a Russian Cossack dance.  It was amazing!  After the show, Mandy stuck around and spent most of the afternoon with me.

Well, when my DH spilled the beans about Mandy's visit, the flamingo wishes flowed in.  Here are Madison and Landon posing with a couple of flamingos somewhere in St. Pete.

Carolina and Andrew brought me some inflatable flamingos to the hospital.

Here are my daughter and my sister & me posing with "Mandy".

And here are a couple of hospital layouts that I made.  I think that I'm going to have to re-do them to include some pink flamingos in honor of Mandy and her friends' visit.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.  Have a wonderful and blessed day!
