Paper Niche sneak peak

Good morning! It is almost time for another fabulous Paper Niche Kit release. This is a sneak peak of one of my projects. I will show you  the rest on Friday.

I made this 12x24 shadow box for my friend Cathy.  It is her birthday gift to her son who never got to meet his grandfather nor has even seen a picture of  him. Both he and his own baby boy were named after him.

This is the grandfather's everyday pocket watch which still works!  You probably couldn't get $2 for it in a pawnshop, but as a family heirloom it's priceless!

We couldn't find a 12" x 24" shadowbox anywhere, so we made one using an inexpensive 12" x 24" picture frame from Hobby Lobby.  My husband added a second "frame" of 3/8" thick flat moulding trim to the back of the original frame and painted it to match.  He used glazier points (how cute are those?) to hold the glass in place and then the layout was fastened to a piece of tempered hardboard (pegboard without the holes) which was screwed into the back of the frame.  It's not as deep as most shadowboxes, but was more than enough for this project.

Mary Kate came to scrap with us and she looked like a princess!!!! I can't believe she is 4 months already.

Check out her diaper, panties, socks and shoes.... I am sooooo glad my sweet friend Karen had a girl and not a boy!

Have a great and blessed day!

I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy!

Good morning!  Independence Day is just around the corner.  With naturalized-American patriotism, I just couldn't pass on all the great red, white & blue papers and doo-dads.

I don't think that popcorn is a big 4th of July picnic treat, but the box colors are right on.  I added a couple of tags to the inside of the popcorn box

These fabulous flowers are from the garden/seasonal department at Hobby Lobby.  They come with the rhinestone and mini-beads in the center and the beaded ribbon between the six flowers you get in each package.

Have a fabulous, cool and blessed day!

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning! Thank you for all your comments yesterday, my husband really enjoyed them. Let's see what he will do next....I am afraid to leave my studio for more than a few hours at a time!!!!
These pictures were taken during my daughter in law's baby shower. She is so ready to have the baby... it is pretty hot where she lives.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Your village called . . . they're missing you REALLY bad!

Good morning! Hope you had a fabulous weekend. There's something to be said about locking our studios when we go out.  While I was away cropping with friends, my husband sneaked into mine and decided to make the Village People on the Cricut.  "What's the big deal?", he says, "I just used scraps!"

"It wasn't all that hard.  Everybody except the 'biker' had a ready-made pattern. I had to get creative with him.  He's kind of a 'hybrid' using five different characters & the vest cut freehand.  I had to cut up an old CD case for the vinyl.  She's got acres of paper, but not one square inch of vinyl!"

Well, scraps or not, I wasn't going to let him off the hook that easy!  We jazzed them up a bit and made this layout with them.  Not having any pictures to go with the layout, we went to the shopping center and made some.  It turned out nice ... don't you think?

Most men his age would fantasize about being the 5th Beatle.  Not my hubby ...

"What?", he says, "I think I would've made a GREAT pirate!".

Have a great and blessed day!

Happy Friday!

Good morning! Today  at Stuck On Us Sketches we have our last sketch challenge for the month of June. This is another fabulous sketch designed for SOUS by the talented Liz Qualman.

I converted it into a two pager (of course!). This is my son Daniel and his wife Lexie last fall enjoying the
off -season together.

Mary Kate's father and grandfather are avid hunters. She wore a camouflage outfit at the hospital the day after she was born and she looked soooo adorable! I made this layout for her using Create a critter cricut cartridge.

This one is about her bath time at the hospital.

I can't believe she is 4 months old today.  By the time my two grandchildren come I will be an expert with babies!!! Have a wonderful, safe, happy and blessed weekend!

Happy Thursday!

Good morning! Hope you are enjoying the hot summer days. Since I can't be in the sun I decided to make a quick stop at Hobby Lobby with my camera and get some beach/summer shots for my pages.....(ha, ha, ha)

I made this layout using "Seaside" from KaiserCraft. The colors are beautiful, very muted. I made the large flowers on the left with "Life is a Beach" cricut cartridge.

Burlap and net are my latest crazed!!!!!! You will see them very often on my pages.

Look at my school of fish!!!! They are made out of metal  and you can find them at the jewelry department at Hobby Lobby. Anything goes in scrapbooking, right?

Have a fabulous and blessed day!

Happy Monday!

Good morning! Hope you had a fabulous summer/hot/father's day weekend. Mary Kate's mom learned to make tutus and now she has one for every occasion, including one who matches everything! She made one for Madison Rose too.

I made some more 4th of July layouts using BoBunny Liberty collection. Some of them are for the class this coming weekend. I just love those rich and bright colors.

My friend Mindy from  Pretty Little Paper Love  is leading a fun blog called Scrap it with a song. They have a fabulous prize this month sponsored by Fancy Pants and everyone who plays for the whole month of June is being entered in the drawing. Make sure you check it out and enter to win this fabulous collection!

Have a blessed day!

Happy Friday!

Good morning! This is a layout I made with Teresa Collins Timeless Collection.

You can see all the details  here.

I found this angel in the garbage during the crop! It was from  a Tattered Angel poster and it turned out to be perfect for my page.

Tammy (Paper Niche's owner) got a chance to take my class, I felt very honored.

She made a beautiful 12 x 12 page for a picture of her father. It turned out beautiful, I love her flowers and embellishments.

This is the layout I will be teaching today at Hobby Lobby.

Have a fabulous and blessed weekend!

BoBunny Barefoot Beach Collection

Good morning! I got a chance to buy the entire BoBunny Barefoot Beach collection at the Paper Niche last week and could not stop making layouts!!!!!!  The collection is fabulous, the colors are very vibrant and there are so many pieces to play with! I actually used pieces of the mini album in my layouts. I made two big tags to go behind the pail.

The palm tress are from the accucut machine. How do you like the hammock???? I wish I had one!
The pants are from the mini album.

The sandals are from the mini album too.

Hope you enjoyed them and get inspired to make summer pages! Have a cool and blessed day!

Happy Wednesday!

Good morning! I am finally back home after almost two weeks on the road. My daughter and I hosted a baby shower for my son's wife Lexie. She looks so beautiful! She is having a baby girl named Madison Rose at the end of August.

We had so much fun decorating the room. Everything was white and pink, of course! birds, bird cages, flowers, candles,  pearls, butterflies and angels decorated both candy and dessert tables.

Lexie's mom and I are the happiest grandma's-to-be on earth!!!!! We can't wait to hold baby Madison.

My precious daughter Valerie is also pregnant!!!!! She is having a boy at the end of December. Wow.... double grandma in the same year!

I went shopping!!!!! The babies will be 4 months apart, wow..... I am sooo excited! God is so good!!!

I am a guest today at The Bug Bytes and while I was away my amazing husband made a video about "character sizing on the cricut". I am so impressed! I think I will travel more often....

Cricut Instructional Video

He says that he has enough material to make another video.  Hopefully he'll make another soon!

Have a terrific and blessed day!
